Cycles. We all go through them. All PAX go through periods where they post to F3 5 times a week, and suddenly we might find ourself in a drought. Cycles of life cause things that prevent posting, or getting sufficient sleep, making it hard to take the #DRP. Weather changes, and it’s too hot… or like this morning, maybe it’s cold… both can be used as reasons to hit that snooze button. Through every cycle, the one thing that remains a constant is F3. As a collective, the PAX motivate you to post and avoid being the #SadClown. Not alwyas directly, but often indirectrly; and that motivation will go through cycles too, depending on where you are in life… Whether it’s not wanting to miss out on the fun, supporting a brother, needing to vent frustration, the need for prayer, or to get your day rolling. Like yesterday, YHC wanted to sleep in… but how could I miss a @Thistle Q at #Flatline (they are just too fun)?! It was the PAX, motivating YHC to post… so in honor of cycles, YHC simply used a fun play on words to focus on our muscle groups this morning. It went a little something like…

    • At the Shelter
      • Scissor Merkin x 9 IC
      • Run a lap
        • Plank for the 6 after each lap
      • Ranger Merkin x 18 IC / lap
      • Dips x 18 / lap
  • Bicycle
    • To the pull up bars
      • Chin ups OR Negatives OR Side Pulls (L/R) x 20 OYO
      • Freddy Mercury before/after your turn on the bars
    • Repeat

  • Praise report/Prayer request for Torque and his M (Van Gogh’s sister) who find out boy or girl soon
  • YHC took us out giving thanks for the strength/courage/capacity to get up and put in the time, giving a prayer request for Puerto Rico, Victims of tragedy, and our country.

NMM

  • #Kotters to Atrophy, who had posted in Charlotte before. Dude must do crossfit, because he was breaking out those pull ups with perfect Kip execution.
  • Atrophy also brought out our FNG, Sasha, who is a technology consultant, enjoys trail running, and has traveled a LOT. Meet his M in Kazakhstan… name tossed it was Borat, but to ensure his M was too offended, switched to Sasha after the actor who plays him: Sacha Baron Cohen.
  • Lots of questions on the Intimidator if YHC knew any other exercises… but really, keeping it simple is much easier to remember (and arguably, easier for the PAX to understand).
  • Root Canal suspected a return trip to the top of the Intimidator, but to his astonishment (disappointment?) we did not make multiple trips.
  • Cheerio was accidentally called Hazer by YHC… he was commenting during the Tricycle laps… #Kobains
  • Manscape ever the strong/silent type brought us home each round of pull-ups, and put in strong work!
  • What is a Scissor Merkin??? Glad you asked, see linked GIF below! Name was decided on by the PAX, and all agreed it sucked.
  • Mr. Hand spoke for the PAX and decided we do the “hard” option for Tricycle, instead of easy…. Isn’t he the best?!
  • Merry Mary (quite contrary) was a breakthrough discovery made yesterday by YHC… Merry starts with “Mer” like MERkins! And the workd “Merry”, sounds like “Mary”! Eureka! So we broke the Status Quo and YHC tried to put a contrary / spin on Mary. Plus it got us past the Benjamin mark, you’re welcome!

    I need to try the scissor merkin in the privacy of my home to see if I can do even one. T-claps to Atrophy for posting in WS and being the newest FNG. Welcome.

    Although I might have thought “it could have been worse”… it was Cheerio that articulated that thought. Fine Q VanGogh. I pity the fools that show up for your Q tomorrow at the distillery. I’m sure it won’t be perceived as “too easy.” Thanks for your enthusiasm and leadership!
