Blocks and Laps and Hucks at TIT.

QIC: Wobegon

Date: 8-31-2026

PAX: @Green Acres (WD) @Boomerang @dr. toot @Tammy @Dandelion @Fiddler @picker, Fireball (FNG and WB). @wobegon (QIC)

YHC pulled into the lot, seeing plenty of cars and a small circle filled with a couple of familiar faces and several I’ve not yet met, including an FNG. Which means this RESPECTable Q had to bring…if not his A game, at least his solid B game. It went like this, after a standard WOR.

THE THANG

Station 1: Block Party

  • 20 Block Complexes (1 Curl + 1 Overhead Press + 1 Skull Crusher = 1 rep)
  • 20 Block Sit-Ups (Press block overhead at top of sit-up)

Station 2: The Legs

  • 20 Air Squats
  • 20 Alternating Lunges (10/leg)
  • 20 Skaters
  • 20 Reverse Lunges

3 Rounds (20 reps, ~12 reps*, 5 reps) Note: Round 2 target was bumped from 10 to 12 reps to hit 11… for reasons.

Merkin Ring of Fire

  • Executed on blocks, starting at 5 reps down to 1 rep around the circle.

Track Work (7-Min timer)

  • 10 Pull-Ups
  • 1 Track Lap
  • 10 Low Flutters (IC)
  • 1 Track Lap
  • Repeat-O until time

6MOM (Mary)

  • Various core work. Gas Pumps/Heels 2 Heaven really are the same thing, c’mon.
  • Finished out with Huck’s 3 Merkins

COT

GreeNest and Samaritan Opportunities this month; watch Slack and jump in if you can.

9/11 Climb To Remember next week, watch for changes in Friday workout plans.

Labor Day Convergence, most likely 7 am at TIT.

Iron Pax continues this month. Watch Slack so you can plan to attend or avoid certain workouts. You may not like it, but accept it.

NMM

  • Welcome to our new guy, Fireball. Working on an RN degree, car guy, bourbon guy, so we brainstormed on the worst possible bourbon. YHC is out of the game on this, but someone said Fireball, and despite being a little too cool, we went with it.
  • Picker, Dandelion and Fiddler, newer pax to me, are great additions to our cult…err..group.
  • Toot, Boomarang and Green Acres continue to offer us the aspirational examples of what the Hates, Ayes and early Respects can do one day. Boomarang event is taking up running in retirement.
  • Solid spread of ages and appearances here; some showcased the Old Man Energy (hi), some really don’t need to wear tank tops and make the rest of us feel bad about ourselves; some did both.

Tammy, thanks for the key and the chance to lead.

Tough one Wobegon! Those block complex things were turrible. 🥵 Loved the pull-ups tho; got some extra instead of running 👍🏻 Thanks for leading! 👏
