With IPC coming in hot (as in next week), YHC took the opportunity to bring back the hardest / best IPC workout, in YHC’s opinion:  Meatloaf’s Massacre.  See previous runs of the workout here:

  • Goblet Squats x 40
  • Erkins x 50
  • Run .7 mile loop

Repeato until you hear the 0615 alarm.

Fin.

Announcements:

  • Greennest is Saturday, September 12th, and they could use some help. See Starfish.
  • Triple-down run next weekend. Friday am:  OGs; Friday pm:  Sauratown Mountain followed by Green Heron Ale House; Saturday am:  Salem Lake.  Look to Slack for launch times.

Prayer Requests:

  • Praise for Subfloor’s improved health metrics.
  • Ziggy Stardust will be in D.C. for an extended time teaching at the Washington Wake program.
  • YHC’s M had a biopsy this morning. Results expected on Tuesday.
  • YHC took us out thanking the Sky-Q for the morning.

NMM:

  • YHC showed up at 0450, deposited a coupon around the workout circle, and stretched. Rollback, Workbench, and Zephyr rolled in.  They let YHC tag along up to Shallowford Road and continued on their way when YHC turned around.  They showed back up when we had about five minutes left in the workout.
  • Very little MC, as expected, but lots of encouraging words were heard as guys passed each other on their runs.
  • With Zima on one side, YHC was posted up beside Fiddler and Landshark. Great to be with those guys.
  • Rubber Ducky has done a great job of getting this AO established. YHC loves the intensity that the regulars here are bringing.  It was great to see Seaman, Subfloor, and Blind Date, not having crossed paths in a minute.  Also great to see Drama Queen & Hugo, doing work.
  • Tonka demonstrated some wisdom, bringing a yoga mat to protect against tramp stamping with WW2s & blocks.
  • Slowpitch was not impressed with the music until Fogerty’s Centerfield came on. “Turn it up!”  Afterwards, Slowpitch distributed sweat towels and samples of saltlyte (https://saltlyte.com/collections/electrolytes), a drink powder developed by Emmet, an F3 brother in Kansas City.  Use code ‘F3Nation’ for $3.00 off your order for life.
  • 0549, YHC: “Guys, I’ve got good news.”  Zima:  “Don’t do it.”  YHC:  “It’s 5:49!”  Zima:  “D1CK!”  That wouldn’t be the only time Zima would call YHC that today.
  • Everyone got finished with 3 rounds (450 reps, 2.1 miles) and was making progress on their fourth round. Everyone except Van Gogh.  As the alarm rang out, Van Gogh rolled in on his last run, completing four complete rounds.  He was on a different level than the rest of us this morning, a clear favorite for taking home IPC glory in 2026.
  • Good luck to everyone as IPC 2026 begins.  Enjoy challenging yourself, don’t take yourself too seriously, and don’t take anyone else seriously at all.
  • Ducky, the keys are at the end of the trail. You’ll have to run down there one more time to get them.

Greenspan out.
