After many weeks of Van Gogh and YHC talking to Head Hunter about taking over site Q, we decided that today would be the flag handoff. Pulled out the Terrible More Terrible beatdown and came up with some new questions. Working the body, mind, and soul.

The Thang
The beatdown is a series of T/F questions and depending on the correct answer or not, a terrible or more terrible result. Also, no help from the rest of the PAX and you have 5 seconds to answer.
First, make way to the new parking lot and the first question which Head Hunter was coerced into answering as he will be Alcatraz’s new site Q. This question forgoes the T/F and was just a simple numerical answer. The result would be Bear Crawl the parking lot with a Carolina Dry Dock at every line for a correct answer and incorrect would be Crawl Bear with Shoulder Tap Merkins at each line.
How many site Qs are there for Alcatraz? Head Hunter guessed 3, I assume since he will be the third site Q, but the answer is 1. There is only 1 site Q at any given time. More terrible it is. (Van Gogh guessed 2 after the beatdown)
Next, we made our way to the parking lot by the playground. Partner up, which means you have the power of 2 to answer the question. Smartly Schlitz with his FNG stepped up for this one. If correct a Dora, if incorrect a Doracide.
T/F Dr. Toot is Jeff Leal’s F3 name. Schlitz answered false, which is correct. His true F3 name is Root Canal. Schlitz not only has a great personality, but the brains as well. We were all grateful to only doing a Dora since the sun was scorching us in the run portion of the Dora.
We stayed put for the next question. Seeing how easily Schlitz answered the question, Adobe stepped up for the next one. 11s vs 21s were on the table of SSHs and Plank Jacks using the cones down the parking lot. Note, Van Gogh was flustered that the more terrible was not 22s.
T/F There are 15 unique AOs in the Dash PAX area. With only 5 seconds to answer, I don’t think Adobe had time to absorb the question and then count all the AOs, so he answered true. The correct answer is false, there are actually only 11 unique AOs, a number of our AOs meet in the same location.
After that painful 21s, we made our way back to the shade by the playground. Crash was chosen for the next question. A correct answer would be 20 Merkins and 20 Freddy Mercuries, incorrect 40 Foxholes which excited Sea-man who might have been sabotaging the whole thing.
T/F F3 Winston-Salem is in it’s 13th year. Crash answered false, but the correct answer is true. The first beatdown was 1/4/2014 and we just celebrated our 12th anniversary so we are in our 13th year. I think the heat and sweat were really challenging the PAX. 40 Foxholes completed, at least by Head Hunter.
After this, we moseyed to the pull up bars. The PAX decided to bring in the big guns for the next question and put forth the Professor, Ziggy Stardust, to overcome the shenanigans of the Q. A correct answer would be a Six Pack (1 pull up, 5 Merkins; 2, 4; all the way to 5, 1; then back down to 1, 5), incorrect a Baker’s Dozen (same as Six Pack except 1, 12; etc.).
T/F F3Nation’s first official workout was on the palindrome date of January 1, 2011 in Charlotte, NC. Deep in thought, Ziggy smartly answered false. This was correct, 1/1/2011 is not a palindrome but was the first F3 workout. The murphers were ecstatic about not having to do that many pull ups.
Mosey to get some blocks. Sea-man stepped up. Correct answer x10 each of Curls, OH Press, Squats, incorrect x20 of the same.
T/F Per the F3Nation website, F3 has grown to all 50 states and 21 countries. Confidently he answered true. However, this is false. F3 is only in 46 states, but surprisingly there is one workout in Alaska and Hawaii. Any HIMs up in Maine? More terrible.
We stayed in the same spot and Van Gogh had the next question. Either 20 boxcutters for correct answer or 50 Low Flutters for incorrect.
T/F There are a number of PAX with things for numbers. He asked for YHC to repeat the question and sheepishly answered true. That is correct! Dr. Toot has his 11 and Van Gogh his prime numbers. 20 boxcutters were completed, either square or circles.
Put blocks away and return to start. Still had plenty of time, so we did one more question. Drip had his eye on this one so he was ready. Correct answer 25 American Hammers, incorrect 50.
T/F In my (Subfloor) 5 plus years of F3, I’ve made a lot of friends and gained weight. Drip answered false and since he is such a nice guy, I think this was because he thought YHC lost weight. However, the answer is true, I have gained weight since starting F3, but it’s been all muscle.

Ring of Fire like. Start with 1 burpee, then had time to move to 2 burpees but ran out of time right as YHC was about to go. A good Q always ends on time so had to skip those. After much groaning from rest of the PAX, YHC did the 2 burpees.

- Crash really enjoyed the sun, luckily we stayed in the shade for some of it.
- Despite all the shenanigans with the questions, YHC never felt like a Q’utiny was happening.
- Alcatraz is not having a good record with FNGs, they’re all merloting in the back.
