Zephyr was looking for Qs for WIB and I saw that my birthday was open, let’s do it. A recent Mayhem beatdown, Rollback used chalk and since I want to be like Rollback, let’s use some chalk. Since it was YHC’s 44th birthday, a lot of options to consider with numbers. Send out preblast for WIB at Parliament AO with confusing, indecipherable AI art, check.

After arriving early to set up, it was dark and chalk does not do well on pavement. Also with chalk, you cannot prep the stuff beforehand. Back to cardboard, chalk sucks.

The Thang

We met in the middle where YHC brilliantly explained the simplest beatdown to ever descend on WIB. Everyone partner up; odd number so YHC tagged along with another group.

Four stations in a square and doing 11s which equals 44. Partners start in opposite stations. Partner A started with Merkins x1, then run straight to Squats x10, run diagonal and meet in the middle to do burpees until meet with your partner and do one together. Continue diagonal run to Side Lunge x1, then run straight to LBCs x10, then diagonal to middle for burpees, then back to Merkins x2, Squats x9, etc. Partner B started at LBCs and did the stations in the opposite direction to meet in the middle at some point. It was actually fairly simple to understand. We finished one complete 11s and were about half way done with the second before we ran out of time.

NMM

  • Most of the PAX were confused at the start, but I believe in the general intelligence of men who wake up before the sun.
  • Most of the partner groups stayed together until Starfish and Huckleberry started to pull away at the end.
  • Adobe almost was able to decipher the preblast art, thinking we would be doing reps of 44, which was close.
  • Drama Queen with wisdom from Iceland said it’s colder at this temp in the spring then the fall.
  • Wahoo dressed too warmly even though YHC had given him weather advice weeks ago.
  • Cruiser is well past winter so wears a backward ball cap.
  • Rollback flew through the burpees of course.
  • Rubber Ducky made sure all PAX brought gifts for YHC’s birthday.
