Always. Always. Always Have Spare Cardboard on Hand

PAX: Boomerang, Superfly, Starfish, Subfloor, Adobe, Wahoo, Tonka (QIC)
All God’s chillun knew it was going to rain this morning. YHC and the site-Q, Adobe even joked about it yesterday. However, planning the beatdown last night involved no consideration of the anticipated inclement weather. YHC’s walk to the car minutes before the beatdown enlightened him…Oh boy. Fire drill ensued.
Thankfully, YHC subconsciously took his own advice in the title of this BB and serendipitously a beautiful board of card was at the ready with a sharpie right when he needed it.
Cached Idea #1 for another day, scribbled down some diabolic exercises, and hit the road.
Pulled in the lot a half minute late. Typical.
Adobe had rosined up the boys with some SSHs to kick off WRM. Q steps in and takes it from there.

Short and sweet. Everybody grab a block!
THANG
The PAX were instructed to grab a section of sidewalk under the overhang for their workstation. The weinke was produced, but no lights were on for miles around. The darkness was a mercy to shield their eyes from what awaited them. Better to eat the elephant one bite at a time at the Q’s call. 2min work for each exercise AMRAP. The exercises were as follows:
THRUSTERS
PERFECT MERKINS
AMERICAN HAMMERS
TOE TAPS
SKULL CRUSHERS
ALT REVERSE LUNGES
BOX CUTTERS
CURLS
BLOCKIES
The Q provided an extremely advanced and sophisticated TABATTA program to run the timing of the workout: his stopwatch and voice. The product launch was mildly successful.
Two rounds were completed with lots of groaning.
Blocks up. Time for…

NMM
The PAX were leery of the effectiveness of the Q’s new TABATTA technology, but soldiered on nonetheless and kept most of their doubts to themselves. Main concern voiced was the potential for catastrophic failure of the program resulting in 6-8min of Thrusters.
Complaints were made about how the extra water weight clinging to the blocks wouldn’t be accounted for in the BB reader’s perception of the PAX’s effort. Consider it accounted for.
Full disclosure, YHC intended to set the AMRAP timer to 4min. After doing mental reps for 4min on the ride over, he saw the treacherous error of his ways and decided on 2 rounds of 2min.
Boomerang took issue with the Q’s math. 2+2 still equals 4 according to him. Questionable.
Superfly was not phased by this workout. Never a complaint from his section.
Starfish thought standing skull crushers were too easy, so he dropped on his back and starting cranking them out horizontal.
Subfloor postulated the difference between alternating lunges and direct lunges is a likened to the difference between alternating current and direct current in electricity. He plans to write a dissertation to defend this thesis. We wait with bated breath.
Adobe started daydreaming about breakfast ham once he saw AM HAM on the weinke.
Wahoo started pacing whilst curling to attempt creating a breeze for himself. This was about as effective as my new TABATTA app.
Rounding the corner into round II was felt by all: Blockies, Thrusters, Perfect Merkins in rapid succession for 6min is brutal.
Mumble Chatter covered a variety of topics such as green eggs and ham, American cheese supremacy, how long one can pause in the “release” position of the hand release merkin while still counting as exercise.
This one was fun.
Thanks for the keys, Adobe. They might need to be washed after all that breakfast ham.
Always a pleasure to lead.
