Originally, I had the Q at VI on July 13, 2026 and had come up with a plan to celebrate the actor Harrison Ford’s birthday with a beatdown theme from four of his most famous roles. However, that plan was rained out. So I squirreled this away for a most opportune moment. I did not want to save this for a year. An opportunity came up when Frank N Beans was looking for a subsi-Q at Parliament and who better than Subfloor. It’s in the name. Oh wait, there’s no running at Parliament and also no blocks. Who cares, Han Solo was a rebel and he shot first. YHC just pictured Tonka as Greedo and everything fell into place.

The Thang

Mosey to get a rock, ahem, a block. Meet back at top of parking lot.

First role of course is Han Solo. And of course what better F3 inspired exercise than a Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs, whatever that is. So, standing in a line, each PAX does x12 of: Squat Thrusters, Curls, Bus Drivers, and Skull Crushers. One lucky PAX runs a distance and back. If that lone scoundrel, I mean PAX, arrives back before all others finish their set, 5 burpees by all. Wahoo was up first to do the run, but was having trouble seeing the distance YHC pointed out. It is the gloom, but not that gloomy. He made the run seem easy, so the next couple runners we had run farther and do 12 air squats and 12 wall jumps. Still no luck beating them so on to the next thang. Yes, this Rebel Alliance broke the Empires rule about running.

Han shot first. Partner up and stand facing your partner. One partner group holds their block above their heads while the next group says a letter. As soon as one of the first group comes up with an exercise that starts with that letter, they bring their block down and say it. Unfortunately, the first letter was Y and that group was having trouble coming up with something. Yell WW2 is now a thing. Not sure if it was unfamiliarity with the Exicon or the early morning, but we went through all the groups despite the challenge of coming up with exercises on the spot.

Second famous role of course is Indiana Jones. So of course we had to outrun the boulder. YHC kept his block in hand while all other PAX fell in line and we did an Indian run around the parking lot while handing off the block to first in line. Sorry Tonka, broke the rule again, but that’s kinda what Mr. Jones does.

Next up was choosing the Holy Grail from an assortment of cups like the end of Indiana Jones and the Holy Grail. No, it was not beer pong. 7 red cups laid out randomly with an exercise and amount of reps on the bottom. Each PAX get a turn at picking a cup and then we do the exercise. First one was something squats. YHC couldn’t read his own handwriting, but after checking notes, it was not 57 but actually 87 squats for amount of acting credits. Tonka chose…poorly. I think it was only one more pick before Wahoo chose wisely and picked the Holy Grail. On to the next thing.

Third role was Rick Deckard in the Blade Runner movies. Was he a human or a replicant? Will use the Voight-Kampff test. Roll dice, even is Human, do rolled number plus 7 of HR merkins, Heels to Heaven, Heavy Freddies, and end with Hurpees. Whoever it was rolled 6, so 13 reps of each. Yeah! Odd is Replicant, do the same of Ranger Merkins, Reverse Crunch, Russian Twist, and end with Rockees. Next PAX rolled a 5, that’s right 12 reps. Running out of time so let’s move on.

Last role was Jack Ryan which he played in Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger. The plan was to line up by height and start with the tallest and take turns through the whole line. The starting PAX would do 5 burpees, 10 merkins, 15 squats, over and over while other PAX roll dice. Whatever is rolled is reps of Upright Row, Squat Thruster, and American Hammer (or USA). Next roll is added reps to the first or if repeat, switch to next PAX. For example, if a 4 is rolled, do that many reps. If 3 is rolled next, do 7 reps while the PAX is doing the 5, 10, 15 over and over. Say another 3 is rolled. Next man up. Since we were running out of time and we all knew Tonka was the tallest, we started with him. We didn’t get very far when it was time to put the blocks back.

YHC was too busy keeping this crazy train on the tracks to hear much banter, but I’m sure there was. I think I filled this bag with too much Hut excrement, it was overflowing. The last one could probably fill a whole workout.
