TIME WASTERS.
I’m sure we did something really important.
BEATDOWN.
Push play on tunes! When a song begins, the PAX must provide (3 out of 5): song, artist, year, album, and weeks at #1.
For the entirety of the song:
- If correct: alternate between performing exercise to failure and LBCs x 25
- If incorrect: perform 10 burpees, run a lap, and squats for the six
Rinse and repeat for each song.
Exercises:
- Perfect Merkins
- Reverse Lunges / KTG Lunges
- Heels to Heaven / Box Cutters
- Mountain Climbers
- Pullups
DONE.
NMM.
- All of the songs were #1 Billboard hits from the 1980s.
- We would have been doing A LOT of burpees had @Starfish not posted. Apparently the rest of the PAX didn’t listen to music in the 80s. We are all very lucky he showed up.
- Ironically, Ziffel was the dark horse on music trivia. We figured that since the songs took so long to get through the Iron Curtain, all of the tunes were current to him.
- While awesome people, the Q overestimated the ability of the PAX to know 80s pop hits. They certainly weren’t awesome at that task.
- Lesson learned: KYC. When I’m at Purgatory, it’ll be all Perry Como and Frank Sinatra. At Flatline, it’ll be Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande — whoever they are.
- To provide more variety in exercises and songs, the playlist was advanced about 2-ish minutes into each song.
- The Q positioned himself right next to the speaker so as much as I assume there was zero mumble chatter about the workout, my guess is that I wisely chose to listen to the awesome tunes.
- Did not everyone else have to memorize the words to “We Didn’t Start the Fire”?
- There are over 225 songs that spent at least 1 week at #1. We only got through 17 songs. Yup, this playlist is coming back.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
- Slowpitch has Parliament on Tuesday.
- Starfish has WIB on Thursday.
PRAYERS:
- None spoken.
