PAX: Bootsie (EC), Rollback (EC), Frostbite (EC), Starfish, Van Gogh, Greenspan

It had been a minute since YHC had been to Flatline, although it is one of YHC’s favorite weekly beatdowns.  Wanting to build upon recent Bourbon Chase training while checking all of the Flatline boxes, YHC concocted a constant moving, distance accumulating plan for this August morning.  Thankfully, several other HIMs joined me.

Announcements:

  • Greennest is Saturday, and they could use some help. See Starfish.
  • Drano has a 50k in the fall he invites all to join.
  • Bourbon Chase team needs 1 runner for first weekend in October. Talk to YHC.

Prayer Requests:

  • Rollback’s M’s shoulder has not continued to progress, so she’s having to leave children’s ministry.
  • Men at Samaritan’s Ministry.
  • Kids back in school.
  • Healing for Hot Dish’s knee.
  • YHC took us out thank the Sky-Q for F3, for the ability to run around downtown with other men, and asking for strength to continue participating and inviting others to participate.

NMM:

  • Frostbite, Bootsie, and Rollback dragged YHC on the EC run, but YHC abandoned them when they appeared to be heading down towards Hanes Park. Frostbite had dragged YHC up and down Cherokee Hill yesterday, so was not looking for elevation changes today.
  • YHC spent most of the morning recruiting for the Bourbon Chase team spot that Zima has abandoned. Rollback and Frostbite are already HCs.  Starfish is up for drinking bourbon in October, just not in Kentucky while running a race.  Van Gogh declined due to his M’s birthday, but volunteered her as an option.  Bootsie has financial quarter close responsibilities.
    • Van Gogh also recalled the one F3 workout, excluding Bourbon Chases of yesteryore, where bourbon was actually consumed. Hansel brought some to his birthday WIB several years back.
  • Frostbite had a lot of fun this morning. He loved the burpups progression in the parking deck.
  • YHC couldn’t bypass that wall outside 1st It’s one of the best places for straight-arm get-ups in the region.
  • Bootsie is really fast. He bought brand new shoes for “traveling” today.  He did complain in the deck that we weren’t running enough.  By the end of the 2.6 miles, hopefully, he was satisfied.
  • Rollback was unable to get Beverly to post, but hopefully he would have been pleased with this morning’s investment.
  • Van Gogh is moving vehicles around like a stock portfolio. I feel like I’m doing this wrong.
  • Frostbite tried to bait Rollback with, “Remember when all Rollback did was run? Like, just Redline and OGs?”  No response from the Burpee Captain.
  • Bootsie critiqued YHC’s decision to leave 500 West 5th where there was an actual breeze.
  • Van Gogh wanted to lay his face on the ground on 4th street, but was apprehensive that someone had urinated there. Fun fact:  YHC witnessed a dude peeing in broad daylight on the side of the Benton Center 2 weeks ago.
  • Everyone worked up a good sweat. Thanks for coming, guys.

Bootsie, I’m keeping the keys.  Find me a replacement for Zima, and I’ll hand them over.
