The PAX made quick work of the first pass through the workout, so YHC called an audible and started a second pass—this time dropping the first exercise (Merkins). The group completed the entire second pass before beginning a third. About halfway through that third trip, it became apparent the accumulating format had become more of a grind than a challenge, so YHC made another adjustment.

We moseyed to the benches where the PAX completed:

  • 20 Burpee Bench-Overs (OYO)

The movement was an immediate hit, and everyone who attempted it seemed to enjoy the challenge.

From there, we partnered with another PAX of similar land speed for a leapfrog sprint.

  • Partner #1 sprinted for 10 seconds before stopping.
  • Partner #2 sprinted to Partner #1, then continued sprinting for 10 seconds before stopping.
  • Continue leapfrogging to the top of the hill and back to the start.

The morning concluded with approximately two minutes of Mary before TIME.

Moleskin

It was great having Pinetree join us from Down Range while passing through Winston-Salem on his way to the beach. Safe travels, brother. We hope you’ll stop back in the Gloom on your return trip.

The accumulating workout definitely lived up to its name. While the original concept accomplished exactly what it was designed to do, the audible reminded us that a good Q isn’t married to the plan. Reading the room and adjusting when needed kept the energy high and finished the morning strong.

Burpee Bench-Overs may have just earned themselves another appearance.

Tour Update

With only two stops remaining, every point is magnified. The battle at the top remains tight, while the race for the remaining podium spots is far from settled. Parliament is now on the horizon, and one final opportunity remains to change the standings.

COT

Prayer was lifted for safe travels for Pinetree and for the continued health and well-being of the PAX and their families.

As always, it was an honor to lead. Thanks to everyone who embraced the suffering and made Purgatory worthy of its name.
