The Thang

The original plan called for a station workout around the pavilion, but we evolved it into three rounds.

Round 1

20 reps at each station, OYO.

Round 2

Return to every station and complete 11 reps in cadence.

Round 3

Finish with a Ring of Fire, rotating through every station until time was called.

The Burpee Step-Overs made their debut and were an instant favorite.

Moleskin

The pavilion at Rural Assault is one of the hidden gems in our region. The built-in ceiling fans made an already great AO even better on a warm morning.

The newest exercise of the Tour, Burpee Step-Overs, received rave reviews. Silver Fox immediately predicted they’d be making appearances in future workouts, and based on the reactions, he’s probably right.

Early in the workout, FNG Twinkletoes joked that after the first round of merkins he probably should have just gone for a run instead. Fortunately, he stuck it out. Both Twinkletoes and Sawdust crushed their first beatdown, and we’re excited to have them helping strengthen this corner of the county.

Dr. Toot gave Pele’ props for his “no quit” attitude, and Pele’ once again proved why he’s been near the top of the Tour standings all summer.

Trebuchet quietly went about his business all morning, staying focused and never coming out of the zone.

The Ring of Fire was a fitting finish. YHC managed to survive until the American Hammers before finally coming apart. Sometimes the workout wins. I’ll be ready for the rematch.

Prayers were lifted for the brothers currently on the IR. An injury can be as much a physical battle as a mental one. Sitting on the sidelines can be exhausting. Take time to check in with those brothers. A simple call or message can make more of a difference than you realize.
