Weird Solo Dora. It’s a thing now.

QIC: Wobegon

Date: 5-14-2026

PAX: Argyle, Green Acres (RIRO EC, WD), Boomerang, Silver Fox (WB), Giles (EC)

Great to see Giles running into the lot at 5:04, as YHC came in on two wheels. Quick stretch, down the road we go for 2 Run Club miles. Green Acres is out there… somewhere.

It went like this as the premier no-running Thursday beatdown. The Q decided to offload some of the decision-making today.

The Rock Pile

  • The Prompt:
    • Pax 1: a rock exercise
    • Pax 2: an abs exercise
    • Pax 3: a form of Merkin
    • Pax 4: pick a number from the cup.

The whole group does the 3-exercise routine, using the number picked for each.

We did two rounds, broken up by walking our rocks overhead around the circle. Reps were 25 for both (swear there were more numbers in the cup).

Now: one person picks for the group: give me a rock exercise

Do 1 of that exercise, 10 hillbillies

Do 2 of that exercise, 10 hillbillies

Do 3 of that exercise, 10 hillbiilles

….till we get to 10-10.

Two rounds of this, the second round was monkey humpers instead of hillbillies. Rocks were Overhead Press and Bent Rows. Good choices!

Lots of talk about the legalities of having chickens and why 5 is the magic number. Silver Fox and his neighbor may have an unfortunate interaction involving the chickens. Giles advised him to reconsider his plans. You had to be there.

Rocks up!

The Playground

Weird solo Dora 1-2-3!

Pick your plan: you need 300 reps.

Your choices are:
Pull-Ups, Squats, and LBCs. Split up the reps and exercises however you want, just get to 300.

This worked better than I thought it might!

Walk back to start for Mary, concluding with everyone’s favorite Huck’s Three Merkins.

And done.

COT: aging parents and family members. Pax  recently out of surgery (Huck and Spam). GreeNest Saturday, Smartain dinner service on Monday.

  • Argyle was right on time and made the best possible decision in splitting up the Weird Dora. Man knows how to do it.
  • Green Acres did I think 295 pull-ups and 5 token LBCs. The War Daddy also gave an audible “yay!” when I let him call the Hucks Three Merkins. Others made different noises.
  • Boomerang seemed suspicious of some of the Qs plans (rightfully) but knocked everything out with his trademark form and wit. As always.
  • Silver Fox is one of the best additions to the Dash Pax in the past couple of years. We’ll miss him when the county takes him to jail for chicken-related malfesiance.
  • Giles is training for his first marathon in the Midwest this fall, and is such a stone-cold runner now, it’s crazy. Twice in a week!

Great way to celebrate the last day of my 40s, thanks for the keys, Green Acres. They are hanging from the swing set.
