Warm-O-Rama:

The THANG:

Part 1:

With this being the start of the challenge, and with the Site Q mentioning “wanting to grow the AO”, I thought there would be no better way than to advertise. Soooo, I decided to take the PAX for a little run down Clemmons Rd. ( I mean, most of us had F3 shirts on. Had planned on carrying the shovel flag along. This would really draw some attention from the passersby………at 05:35. All of which we saw about 4 total cars. )

As we took off, pretty sure I heard someone say, “So we’re gonna advertise the AO, by running away from the AO.? ” Brilliant !

Along the way we had 3 stops.

Stop 1 = 20 Merkins, Stop 2 = 20 Squat Jumps….turn around and head back. Stop 3 = 20 HR Merkins. Run back to the start in the parking lot.

Part 2:

This is the part that I explained that I was originally going to start blasting show tunes, but while planning the workout started listening to some “older” jam bands from the early Bonnaroo days. At that point I thought to myself ” man, I wish Bonnaroo would go back to how it used to be..” So I pivoted. We were going to listed to bands that appeared at Bonnaroo before 2008. And as a twist I offered a bonus point to anyone who would sing along and \ knew any of the artists and songs that were on the playlist.

Plan was simple:
Begin by doing 1 Squat. Apollo Creed 3 spaces and back. Then do 3 Squats. Keep going in this pattern until we got all the way down and back. 6 spaces, 5 Squats, 9 spaces, 7 squats…etc.

PSA: Distillery has a LARGE parking lot !

Part 3:

Time for the block party.

At the far end of the lot, begin doing Lunge \ Presses.

Lunge one leg….block press from the lower lunge position. All the way down to YHC’s truck. Again…..if you haven’t been… GRANDE parking lot. This sucked.

But, we had to get back ! ?

Switched the mode of transportation to Murder Bunny back down. Sinister.

Part 4:
More BLOCKS !

25 Curls, 25 OH Press, 25 Upright Row, 25 Skull Crusher, 25 Bent Row, 25 KB Swing, 10 Blockees ( just for good measure )

Put the blocks away….Time for

MARY \ COT:

We did a little “cool down” and 6:15 arrived.

Announcements: There were some.

Prayers: There were some. Prayers for Blind Date’s M.

YHC took us out.

NMM:

As with most Q’s, if you actually write the backblast “shortly after” if not the day of the beatdown, you tend to remember more. At the time of the Backblast, well…. YHC was a little late. #cobains.

Great morning and great work by all PAX. You guys crushed this one.

Thank you for putting up with my silliness.

As previously stated, there were a few Q fails this morning:

1. YHC’s speaker died about halfway through Part 3 of the beatdown. No sweet music, but there was a lot of groaning. 2. When trying to record Name-O-Rama \ COT, YHC took a single picture instead of switching over to video. #SMH.

Oh yeah, back to the music part.
I don’t know if the Site Q will honor it, but Cruiser and Ziggy got a bonus point. The correctly guess one artist \ song. The song was Fight Test by the Flaming Lips, which Cruiser nailed. Ziggy called out…” Isn’t this Cat Stevens?” And in 2002 there was a legal settlement between the band and Yusef for how similar the song was to his 1970 hit Father and Son. Well done guys.

As for points:

  • Vests: :weight-vest-icon: Rubber Ducky and Cruiser
  • Big Blocks: :cinder-block: Van Gogh, Cruiser, and Rubber Ducky
  • Back to back posts: Wahoo and Subfloor

We done lads.
Until next time….. Adobe — OUT
