QIC: Frostbite

Date: 04/29/2026

PAX: @Slowpitch (EC) @Bevo (EC) @Starfish (RIWO) @Dr. Toot (WD) @Subfloor @Ziffel -Zibi Wozniak @Wahoo @Zephyr @Hugo and @Frostbite (QIC, YHC, WB, EC)

YHC loves to peruse the archives of Winston’s finest workouts on our website. Not only are backblasts a way to see what happened at workouts, but also gives YHC some serious FOMO to what I missed.

YHC had the keys to #Mayhem after a switcheraoo last week with @Turnover. Yesterday, I set out to find a decent (enough) workout that is easily replicable. To do that, you need to filter out @Zima’s backblasts. Then you avoid anything @VanGogh has done because I want to be invited back.

I usually then proceed with clicking the oldest time period. Ya know – to see what Cobra and Mongoose or even Lysol were up to back in the day. Not only that, but also YHC thought that old enough backblasts meant they need dusting off and haven’t been used recently. YHC learned a lesson on that today. Turns out some bastard named @Burns recycled one of his OG beatdowns recently and it happened to be the same one I chose from the archives. I did add a twist, but @Subfloor was not fooled.  Please forgive me, good sir. And sorry @Rollback for not being creative. Here is what @Burns did that is pretty much what YHC led the fine fellows today in. Burns’ Spring Break Vacation, pt. III – F3 Nation: Winston-Salem, NC

But first, @Slowpitch called for an EC Run and YHC and @Bevo joined him for a relatively flat route through Brookberry. We woke up @Hugo on our way out and he met us at the launch. 2.35 miles to get the morning started was very enjoyable. Topics included vacationing at a Theme Park with 4 kids, MS baseball teams, and hypothesizing what the new construction could lead to.

Alas, we roll in and the crew is waiting for us. @Starfish comes out of the woods and we are ready to rock and roll.

Warmarama:

Standard fare of SSH, IST, Hillbillies, Abes, Whirlies, CH Squats, Arm Swirlies, etc. Mosey to the bottom of the Hill to Somewhere

The Thang:

Make groups of three. Not perfectly planned with 10 in attendance. 3-man grinders…in each group 1 person stays at the bottom while pax 2 & 3 run up the hill. Then pax 2 stays at the top while pax 3 runs back down and swaps with pax 1, who runs up and swaps with pax 2, etc. etc. ad infinitum slash until time is called. Each pax is responsible for their own reps, and the weinke is posted at both the bottom and top of the hill for everyone to keep track of their progress.

58 reps each of

  • Jump Squats
  • HR Merkins
  • American Hammers
  • Imperial Storm Squatters
  • Diamond Merkins
  • Heels to Heaven
  • Reverse Lunges
  • Merkins
  • Crunchy Frogs
  • Burpees

Everyone pushed hard and tried to keep up with @Starfish who completed it all. YHC was on the Merkins set. Others were between the Dixon Family.

1.78 miles in total with a whole lotta reps made the morning pretty enjoyable.

For Mary – we helped @Starfish finish with 12 burpees.

NMM:

Very early on @Subfloor made it apparent that the #Mayhem Pax had done a very similar thing recently. For some reason, that did not help with confusion on how the beatdown was to proceed.

@Wahoo and @Zephyr were my grinder partners. They are fast and pushed YHC to keep up with their pace.

@Ziffel has big diamonds

@Wahoo complained about the lack of music

@Dr. Toot would rather workout in the heat than the cold but agreed that this morning’s weather is idyllic. He did not break a sweat.

@Starfish was complaining about the EC runners and that #RunningIsStupid. Yet, he was called out for not taking his car to the beatdown and running there…

@Hugo and @Slowpitch cursed me under their breaths but made this workout look easy

@Bevo envies his M’s ability to do pull ups but impresses her with his endurance. Endurance of what? You’ll have to ask @Bevo.

Why 58 reps you may ask? Well, 75 seemed like too much and according to the aforementioned BB, unattainable. So, today’s date is the 29th of April. Multiply that by 2 and you get 58. Or it was to honor my old man’s age. Yeah, we will go with that.

Announcements:

@Starfish has #Alcatraz on Saturday. Sounds like a “kick ass” playlist is in store. What’s new.

Samaritan Ministries Weekly Workout – 3:15pm-4:00pm. Wednesdays. Tammy on the Q today.

Prayers:

@Drip’s upcoming surgery

YHC took us out. Thanks for the keys, @Rollback – hope the ankle feels better!

All the love,

Frostbite
