Last week, at about the time YHC was figuring out the plan for his upcoming Q at #TheMothership, @Burlap hopped on the slack and issued an early pre-blast, claiming the Q for #ImpossibleSituation.  Being respectful of his elders, YHC acquiesced and let the #WarDaddy have it.  @Bluto waited until this week to switch from his usual #Purgatory, causing @Burlap to have some hurt feelings since @Bluto did show up at Hanes Park this morning.  As the pax were gathering and introducing themselves to our former #FNG @BrownBag who joined in at Tuesday evening’s #HighLife, YHC saw @Spicoli and looked down at this watch knowing that we probably should have started the workout by then.  Alas, @Spicoli was actually #RightOnTime.  And here’s (some)what went down this morning:

The Thang, Part 1:  Super Collider

Partner up.  Size, speed, fitness goals do not matter.  Partner A runs clockwise.  Partner B runs counterclockwise.  Each time they meet up, each Partner performs 5 Granny Situps aka WWIIs while the other Partner holds plank and his Partner’s feet.  Once each Partner performs the 5 WWIIs, the Partners resume running.  Rinse and repeat until 1 mile/8 rounds of WWIIs are complete (WWII count = 40)

@BooBoo joined sometime during the #SuperCollider and somehow knew to run in the clockwise direction on the track to find us.  #MarchToYourOwnBeat

The Thang, Part 2:  The Beast

Run up the first two flights of stairs, stop and perform 1 set of 6 reps of the called exercise.  Run up the second two flights of stairts, stop and perform 1 set of 6 reps of the called exercise.  Run up the long flight of stairs at the top of the hill, stop and perform 1 set of 6 reps of the called exercise.  Run down the long flight of stairs at the top of the hill, stop and perform 1 set of 6 reps of the called exercise.  Run down two flights of stairs, stop and perform 1 set of 6 reps of the called exercise.  Run down the last two flights of stairs to the bottom of the hill, stop and perform 1 set of 6 reps of the called exercise.  That completes 1 round.  Proceed through 6 full rounds.

  • Round 1:  Merkins
  • Round 2:  Sumo Squats
  • Round 3:  WWIIs
  • Round 4:  Trailer Park Merkins (aka “Doublewide”)

The Thang, Part 4:  Plank Indian Bear Crawl

Line up in plank position, head-to-toe.  Pax in back of line performs 5 WWIIs OYO and bear crawls to the front of the line and resumes plank position.  Repeato until all pax have had an opportunity to fully participate.

One of YHC’s goals today was to govern @LambChop’s quest to take credit for the most WWIIs in April in all of Dashpaxland.  Much to @LambChop’s chagrin, he was not allowed to do (or even count) WWIIs for the six.  Mission accomplished.

Another of YHC’s goals today was to ignore @Palin’s mumblechatter.  Mission accomplished as even @Palin himself noted.

Yet another of YHC’s goals today was to actually earn @Burlap’s endorsement that he so graciously granted yesterday.  You’ll have to ask him whether this mission was accomplished.

Still yet another of YHC’s goals today was to keep the pax warm.  Mission accomplished as we got the heart rate up and the sweat flowing during the #SuperCollider.  @Crash was already warmed up before we even started since he did an EC run.

Even still yet another of YHC’s goals today was to help make @BAM a better #GrandBAM in keeping with what @DarkHelmet would want me to do.  Mission accomplished as noted by @GrandBAM himself.

And even still yet another of YHC’s goals was to ably serve as the #DadTan or is it #NanDad since @Frostbite posted and is in charge of things these days.

Whereas it wasn’t a goal but sure was a nice add-on was getting to work out for the first time with @BrownBag.

All in all, we got in 182 WWIIs and 2.18 miles.  And a full body workout.

Announcements include needing a Q for #greeNest on 4/20, Tuesday evening’s workout aka #HighLife at Miller Park at 1930hrs, Thursday evening’s Happy Hour and a Half at Mossy’s in Clemmons.

    Mission accomplished with respect to my endorsement. This was a solid full body workout that checked all the boxes.
