Frostbite is buying Stella Brew, Lambchop’s kid knows all the A-B-Cs, and other Conspiracies

QIC: Wobegon

Date: 2-7-2024

PAX: Frostbite, Lambchop, FrankNBeans, Greenspan, Drip, Schlitz, Wobegon

It was a 29-degree morning, and YHC heard the alarm, remembered all his ‘its-cold-hell’ gear was still in the dryer, and moved into action. Tights, check. Ragnar hoodie, check. Heyday Guitars beanie, check. Gloves are in the car. Let’s go.  Came in on two wheels, blasting the new Green Day (it’s only OK) with a minute or two to spare. The conversation was already going, and we got to it.

Warm O Rama in the standard manner.

Mosey to track

The goal: 300 squats, 2 miles of running, and plenty of chest and shoulders. Let’s see how we do.

Dock Launchers:

  1. Perform 10 Carolina Dry Docks
  2. Mosey around the track
  3. Return to start: 25 Squats and hold for the 6 ( it’s me, hi, I’m the 6, it’s me)

Repat-O X3 adding 5  Dry Docks each time (squats stay the same)

100 squats and 1 mile, check.

Squat-A-Tabat-A

To the shelter. :30 of called exercises, rest period with 25 squats.

  • Squats-25
  • Shoulder taps: 30 seconds
  • Squats-25
  • Merkins: 30 seconds
  • Squats-25
  • Burpees: 30 seconds (crowd pleaser)
  • Squats-25

100 more squats, check.

Bench Work

  • Dips 25
  • Squats-25
  • Irkins 25
  • Squats-25
  • Irkins- 25
  • Squats-25
  • Dips- 25
  • Squats-25

Yet another 100 squats, check.

LBC Mile

The plan was 4 more laps around the track, broken up with 25 LBCs after each lap. Time grew short. So, 50 LBCs, one lap, 50 more LBCs and mosey to start.

Mary by committee. Rounded out with a minute of squats to get another 50.

So, short in the mileage but over on the squats. YHC declares victory.

Announcements: Drip has the Mutha Ship on Saturday. YHC has WIB at Reynolda Village.  FnB is putting in a shirt order on Friday if you want to get some sweet free shipping like this is Amazon Prime or something.

The pax discussed many topics (beer and marriage seemed to be the biggest) and gave what could generously be described as questionable advice to one pax who is a new parent and navigating that world. I think we all need to take this quiz and report back. Just remember: tit-for-tat does not work in every situation, no matter what these guys tell you.

Aside from that, YHC learned that the town of King is still not drinking Bud Light; the pax share a vision for Ardmore, which includes lowering the prices at PBs and a new joint ownership of Stella by at least two guys in attendance, even though no one seems to think Matt is selling. Also:

  • I never want to hear Frostbite say “Heeeeyyyy Frosty….I’ll warm you up…” in that voice again. Other than that, he was a beast this morning.
  • FanknBeans is the most all-in newer pax I think I’ve ever met. We are so lucky he found us.
  • Schlitz was his normal, lovable self, and I am always glad to learn about beer consumer demographics and his punk rock drumming days and how they affected his 6.
  • Lambchop kept the pot stirred and the conversation going, which we come to appreciate and expect from this pillar of the Dash Pax. If you see him less than 5 days a week later this month..well..we hope it’s a fair trade with his M.
  • Drip grinds it out, dropping those nuggets of compassion and insight as he does. Again, did you expect anything less? I didn’t get the full context, but I did hear him say, “Man, that’s a lot of pimento cheese” at one point. We’ll never know.
  • While the conversation kept flowing during Warm-O-Rama, Greenspan dutifully kept up with the Cadence, which was helpful. He probably ran 5 miles, all uphill, beforehand as well. He also gave a few “that’s not a good idea”  type chime-in’s when the pax started leading others astray with their suggestions.

Frostbite, the keys are somewhere on the track, fell out during all them squats. Thanks for the opportunity. This AO has far and away the best mubble chatter and Palin was not even there. Intrigued by this backblast? Post next week.
