Distilled 22s and a yearlong challenge is announced!

QIC: Van Gogh

Date: 2/22/2024

PAX: @Wooly Bugger, @Adobe, @Skyline, @Drano, @cruiser (WB), @Bruin (WD), @van.gogh (QIC)

With Burns and other PAX finally getting wise to YHCs preference for Qing on the 22nd… YHC has decided to go all out, and make posting on the 22nd part of a yearlong challenge, with 10 more 22 based beatdowns on the calendar, coming in 2024! Two of them are on Sunday and will be supersized. A winner will be declared at the end of the year. Whoever posts to the most 22s and gets the most reps, wins. Next opportunity is 3/22 at Urban Assault! PAX rejoice!

For today, we focused on the February challenge of squats, ensuring lots of reps would be conducted, with a good amount of running mixed in. No time for warmup, lets get to work!

Mary

  • No time

Fin!

CoT

  • Prayers for Captain Kangaroo from F3 Raleigh who recently passed away after suffering a seizure at home.
  • Prayers for Harrison Vaughan’s family. He recently passed away unexpectedly at the age of 25. He was the baseball coach at Calvary Day School.
  • YHC Took us out giving thanks

NMM

  • 2+ miles covered. 110 reps of each exercise, for 440 reps total.
  • TClaps to these men who posted despite knowing what was coming.
  • The blame for the double squat jump burpees was squarely hurled at Burns for his requirement to count toward the February challenge. We often do double merkins, but not squats. Arguably slower, as they completely halt any momentum you normally have in going through burpees.
  • Thrusters were a crowd-pleaser, with Drano commenting a lot about his age while knocking them out.
  • Squat Curls were declared “the same thing” as Thrusters by Cruiser, which they definitely are not….. Hmmm, might need to check his form…
  • Cruiser also mentioned prepping for his upcoming adventure race with Supertrooper, sounds like a great time! I look forward to hearing how it goes.
  • Skyline and Drano knocked out 2.5 miles of EC prior to killing their legs. Smart to run beforehand, not after.
  • Speaking of Skyline, dude has been getting after it! Still pushing toward the Ragnar, but now mixing it up with more boot camps as well. Beware his shady facebook account name. He refused to give me his password to try and help fix it, not sure why not!?
  • TClaps to Bruin for pushing all morning! He’s been such a great addition to the PAX, nice to see he’s becoming the resident WarDaddy of The Distillery. Looking forward to his first Q!
  • Speaking of relatively new PAX, Wooly Booger was KILLING it this morning! He was out in front all morning, and said it was due to missing the last two weeks and having a lot of built up energy. Regardless, YHC told him he seemed ready to lead a beatdown, and he agreed! Site Qs for Alcatraz, Distillery, and Iron Throne, take notice!
  • We barely had enough time to finish, consolidating the last rounds down to 12 (6+4+2) and 38 (18+20) so we got all the reps in. To fix this, I should have shortened the run distance down for the second set, the legs were moving slowwwww before too long; but we still got it done!

Thanks for the keys, Madoff, we could have used your speed this morning to drag us along. I made 22 copies of the keys, and threw them out the truck window as I made my way down Stratford. Just for fun.

Until next time,

VG
