YHC was tearing down the bathroom and closet in his bedroom this weekend, so, came up with a weakly connected workout around that concept!
The brisk temps did not keep the pax away, in fact (if you factor in the wind chill factor), the famed #Gilooly was achieved – more pax than degrees. And with the War Baby being a very young 44, the old guys showed their toughness to party in the chill. So, the Q used a loved “heat” themed music list and everyone got after it.
Oh, and The Pony Express offered hand warmers, for free, to all pax in attendance. All were thankful.

The Thang
When you’re doing demo in the section of the house that was built in the ’30’s, you never know what you’re gonna find: Jimmy Hoffa, water damage, gold bars, treasure maps, asbestos, and a long list of now banned chemicals. So, you’re hoping for a little luck that you don’t discover the worst.

As were in roughly lap 7, we heard a loud bang. Through our keen deduction skills, pax could tell a motorist on Polo had a tire blow out. Before the Q could think “I wonder if that person would want our assistance?” the Singing Cowboy and about 2/3 of the pax started walking towards the car as is rolled into the parking lot. The driver was was not fazed by a bunch of dudes walking up to her car at 7:30 in a school parking lot, and they “quickly” went to work. (more on that later
The remaining pax finished up their Horseshoe and headed to the next thing

- back to the tire changing. Pax weren’t sure if the driver was going for a hike, or just had a dozen walking sticks to fend off would be do-gooders. But she tolerated their help, even though it was less than smooth. Her car was a VW and pax were befuddled when it looked like they would need a special lug wrench, that was nowhere to be found in the car, in order to get the nuts off.
- D-Day ran home to bring back a Prius seeing if it would help shock the nuts off,
- Pony ran to his car to count the remaining hand warmers he brought and turn his emergency flashers on,
- Splash offered advice that went unheeded, so left
- Turns out, there was no special lug wrench needed, the funny looking nuts, was just a fancy cap over the actual lug nuts that Germans put on their tires to charge extra
- YHC can’t remember what else happened, because, well, I’ve demoed a bathroom and closet Friday and Saturday, plus our heat is out downstairs as we wait patiently for a well known HVAC and plumbing company to have the part arrive hopefully by tomorrow. (41 degrees was the temp downstairs this morning)
