Stay out of my lane.

QIC: Wobegon

Date: 7-15-22

PAX: Chitchat (WB), Bloodsport, Spicoli (WD), Palin, Schiltz, Lambchop, Rubber Ducky, Wobegon (QIC)

8 guys showed up to work out at the OG-AO, the Mutha Ship, Impossible Situation. It went like this:

Warm-O-Rama with lots of MC and 2nF to get us going. Loved it.

Let’s mosey. Meet up at the shelter by the track.

M.U.T.H.A. S.H.I.P.s. Routine:

  • M     Merkins
  • U     U-Turns (mosey to curve in track, U-turn, back–just one time)*
  • T     Taps On The Shoulder
  • H     Humpers Like A Monkey
  • A     Alternating Lunges

  • S     Side Straddle Hops
  • H     Heels To Heaven
  • I     Inverted Lunges
  • P     Plank Jacks

3 Round:

  • 20 reps
  • 15 reps
  • 10 reps

Lap around the track after round 3, plank it up.

*YHC made this one up. Partially in tribute to U-Turn, who we were lucky enough to fold into the pax at IS one day. Partially because I did not have another U. As it happens, making the turn on the track and going backward is poorly received by shirtless dudes with beards doing sprints. We were advised to stay out of his lane, or off his track, or out of his ‘hood or something. Palin tried to catch up with him and extend the trademark Palin charm. Whatever. He’s not wrong, but we did stay out of his lane as best we could. Reminder to share the track.

Moving on…

Randomizer!

  • Roll two regular dice, check the chart, and pick your exercise.  Call what you pick out.
  • Roll 4 dice to determine our reps
  • Get to it.

Your choices:

1 Merkins

2 Squats

3 Peter Parkers

4 Over Head Claps

5 Gas Pumps

6 Burpees

however….

  • Doubles: all do 20 burpees and take a lap
  • Snake Eyes: One Minute of the numbered exercise.

We had several rounds of doubles (boo that man) but never got lucky enough on the snake eyes.

Back to the lot for Mary by committee.

COT:

  • Spicoli has all the Qs this week.
  • Wing Night Wednesday at Waldo’s, 6:30

Prayer requests:

Daniel, a friend of Chitchats dealing with cancer. A high school friend of Palin, thyroid diagnosis but promising, neighbor of Rubber Duck with an aneurysm.

Moleskin:

It was not intentional, but today’s workout made me think about the effect we have on others. Rolling the dice is up to chance, but what we roll effects what others have to react and respond to. Similarly, we almost all know someone dealing with a health issue or or difficult situation, we can share the load in one way or another. Keep doing that, keep finding ways to connect with other people. Yeah, the burpees and laps are fun, but ultimately that is almost not the point of this whole thing we do.

Maximum gratitude to you all.
