QIC: Subfloor

Date: 7/29/2023

PAX: Adobe, Crash, Dr. Toot, Rubber Ducky, Van Gogh, Subfloor (QIC)

When YHC arrived at AO of Alcatrazzzzz, after driving pass a shirtless, running Van Gogh, I quickly set up cardboard weinke in the perfect spot, making sure that it wouldn’t be disturbed by the lawn guy. Van Gogh soon showed up, noting of his previous night’s escapades at his M’s (or is it 2.0? I never can remember) company’s barbeque. Crash was number 2, in more ways than one, to show up looking to also unload last night’s barbeque. Then the rest showed up, all from Supermax, looking like they ran through some sprinklers. Diddly was back to F3 in a few years but couldn’t stay. Adobe was last, but not least, with his booming speaker, which YHC was eventually able to connect to.

Warm-O-Rama

Mission Statement / 5 Core Principles

SSH, Arm Swirly Things, Things Swirly Arm, Moroccan Nightclubs at Adobe’s request and I’m a man of the people, Overhead Claps, Michael Phelps, Abe Vigoda, Whirly with a Clap

The Thang:

Mosey to get a rock. Van Gogh of course was there first and grabbed a rock with a bee/wasp nest underneath sending Adobe and Rubber Ducky running for their lives. Multiple PAX asked YHC for some advice for size of rocks they should pick, but YHC kept with his MO not to provide help or advice on rock size. Some things should be left between a man and his rock.

After everyone had their rock, we moseyed to the North by Northwest area of the parking lot for the main event. YHC wanted to do a workout to cover songs and what better way than to cover a workout from our F3 brothers from a different mother, I mean region. The boys down in New Orleans have a great website, Van Gogh hint hint, so YHC found a good one.

The main event was: A.L.A.R.M.S. (arms, legs, abs, run, merkins, SSH)

3 rounds:

Round 1

  • A – 50 curls with rock
  • L – 50 squats with rock
  • A – 100 LBCs
  • R – 250yd run (one PAX brought the rock)
  • M – 25 merkins
  • S – 25 SSH

YHC forgot to do this in Warm-O-Rama so we did 10 burpees OYO after round 1.

Round 2

  • A – 50 shoulder press with rock
  • L – 30 lunges with rock, 2 is 1
  • A – 100 flutter kicks, 2 is 1
  • R – 250yd run (one PAX brought the rock)
  • M – 25 merkins
  • S – 25 SSH

Round 3

  • A – 30 triceps with rock
  • L – 50 calf raises with rock
  • A – 50 big boy sit-ups
  • R – 250yd run (one PAX brought the rock)
  • M – 25 merkins
  • S – 25 SSH

Since time is shorter in the Big Easy or we’re just that good, we finished that with plenty of time. Rocks were returned and we moseyed to the picnic tables for some Q improv. What better way than to cover some local PAX’s stuff.

  • 11s – Dips and Derkins
  • 10 steps ups both legs.
  • 11s – Squatty potties and Urkins (Van Gogh was in search of the goldilocks potty)
  • 10 more burpees OYO, plus 2 to make double 11s!!

Mary

YHC let the PAX pick in a counterclockwise fashion as he was tired of improvising, but had to do reps of 11. Dr. Toot started with WW2 emphasizing that it had to be done in the best possible form. Van Gogh picked American Hammers of course. Crash picked Jane Fondas which the PAX were relieved since we didn’t want to do 11 rounds of Ring of Fire. Rubber Ducky picked Windshield Wipers probably dreaming of rain. Adobe almost started a riot with Crab Jacks but we were all too tired and dehydrated to resist. YHC picked Penguin Crunches and then ended with Low Dolly.

NMM

Van Gogh had to school Dr. Toot that All Along the Watchtower wasn’t Jimi’s original song, but it was in fact written by Robert Zimmerman and covered by Bob Dylan. YHC had to inform them both that Robert Zimmerman and Bob Dylan are the same person.

Dr. Toot is not particularly fond of songs in the minor keys.

Since Van Gogh has a minor in Mathematics, he determined counting was below him.

Crash worked hard through his double down and was never more than 2 steps behind.

Adobe thinks he should bring a rock for the Ragnar, he could call it Ragnar-rock.

Rubber Ducky killed it, especially the squats.
