A Birthday Block PARTY

QIC: Van Gogh

Date: 5/21/2022

PAX: dr. toot, Hansel, Burns, gretel, nitrous, Bullwinkle, Zima (plus kerrick and kyler), van.gogh, rudolph (new to W-S from F3Gastonia), Adobe, Subfloor, Crash

What a better way to ring in a birthday than at my favorite place on Saturday morning surrounded by close friends? Sounds like a great time, just hanging out, relaxing, being kind unto one another. Surely, this workout would be light and easy right?? I think all the PAX would agree it was not!

Warm-o-rama

  • SuperMax Murph!
    • Strong crew with 10 PAX out for the Murph! The humidity and heat were in full effect even at 0600!

Mary:

  • American Hammers x 38
  • Fin!

CoT:

  • YHC gave thanks to the men of F3 for providing vital 2ndF and shoulders to lean on.
  • Continued prayers for Root Canal
  • YHC took us out, and even gave thanks for the heat and humidity

NMM:

  • What a great way to celebrate another trip around the sun!
  • The MASK reference with spelling P-A-R-T-Why!? Did not land for all PAX, who still asked “WHY?!” about the 21 burpees (“Because we gotta!”).
  • A great bonus present when Kyler did the 0700 beatdown and earned himself the name “Jolly Rancher” – which is a reference to putting Jolly Ranchers in Zima as a “drink”… YHC is holding out hope that Kerrick will be named White Claw when he earns it! (He was also on good behavior, so YHC gave them both cookies after the bootcamp ended.)
  • The Party Block Bus was a hit, the BUS stop was NOT.
  • Block crawling in a line was as bad as it sounds, mind the PAX ahead of you made it tricky and a bit tougher actually. Lot’s of grunting, but overall not bad….
  • The bus stop took a while… but the blockees were satisfyingly completed!
  • Root Canal was a great motivator during the blockees, so great to have him out modifying the 1st F while fully embracing the 2nd F.
  • Rudolph joined us for the first time. He recently moved to Winston and should fit right in with F3WS! He was already on Slack for their region, so getting him tied in should go great! He was a great motivator and partner for Dora, and I expect to see him back soon!
  • Kyler did most of the beatdown and earned himself a name, he hung tight with a brick and made his poppa, @zima proud!
  • Crash had a long week and was there for both beatdowns despite that! He was also Toot’s ride, so thanks for bring him!
  • Subfloor confessed he was just starting to be able to move his arms again after last week’s curl/chin-up set. Not sure if the curls during Dora were anyway better!
  • Adobe much preferred not tripling down after last week, but YHC told him he did great and is impressed by all the progress he’s made the past few months!
  • Nitrous showed up a little late for his 5th visit to SuperMax, but he stayed for the bootcamp (also for the 5th time).  I think we can call him a regular!
  • Ziffel was off site camping with the scouts, and sent pictures of him completing a Murph! #TClaps for still getting it done!
  • Hansel was at it again, pushing the pace and getting better, as he has been doing each week for a few months now. Time to get on the Q calendar!
  • Gretel was partnering with Crash next to YHC during Dora and never slowed down. I think he enjoys this thing called F3, and it’s a good thing because we told him he has to keep coming so long as Hansel does (and vise versa).

Thanks for bringing in a new year for YHC, always a pleasure to workout along such fine men. Looking forward to what this year brings!
