The Thang

Slow Mosey around the parking lot until we reached South corner of the church where we came to an abrupt stop. The PAX were introduced to the “word of the day”.  The word was “ recess “. What happens when the PAX utter or hear this word? That’s right, let the Burpee’s begin. 10, on the spot whenever they hear “ recess “.

– So yeah, we did 10 Burpee’s.
Once we were done, we continued to slow mosey around to the back side of the church.

Oh…what’s that? What was that word again? The birthday boy didn’t dare repeat the word (very sage; older and wiser one that he is now.) Nope! It was one of the other PAX. Soooo we all dropped and did more Burpee’s. I think they were finally starting to catch on.

After this, we grabbed some coupons. PAX were instructed to John Cusack around to the side parking lot. Once we arrived, PAX were instructed to drop the blocks and await further instructions.

We slow moseyed over a bit further to the starting point of the main event.

 

The Billy Madison. ( Slightly Modified )

  • ( 2 Pain Stations, 1 exercise listed per grade [12 grades]).
  • Start at 1st Pain Station and complete 1st Grade exercise, then mosey to 2nd Pain Station and complete 1st Grade and add 2nd Grade exercise. Mosey back to 1st pain station and complete 1st, 2nd, and add 3rd Grade exercise. Continue until you reach and complete all 12 grades. Easy… 😉

Grade2: Plank Jacks ( 12 )

Grade3: Lunges ( 12 – double count)

Grade4: Carolina Dry Docks ( 12 )

Grade5: American Hammers ( 12  )

Grade6: Jack Reacher Squats ( 12 )

Grade7: Shoulder Taps ( 12 – Supposed to be 6 each side, but there were some line leaders who were doing 12 each side )

Grade8: Star Jacks ( 12 )

Grade9: Mike Tysons ( 12 )

Grade10: Apolo Ohno ( 12 double count )

Grade11: WWI’s ( 12 )

Grade12: Catalina Wine Mixer ( 12 )

 

But wait….we can’t stop there.

 

While time was beginning to run short, along with the PAXs’ sense of humor for the Q’s antics, there was one extra Pain Station. That’s right…… COLLEGE ! What could go wrong?

College Pain Station was pretty simple.

The sign instructed the PAX to complete the “WHEEL………OF……..MERKIN…!!!!!!”

( Grab a piece of curb, and perform (12) incline merkins. Staying in the plank position, rotate 90 degrees clockwise until your body is parallel to the curb with left hand on the curb and right hand off it. Repeat the same number of merkins. Rotate 90 degrees more and perform the same number of decline merkins. Rotate 90 degrees more. Repeat with right hand on the curb and left hand off it.)

 

Annnd that’s a wraaaa_ …. hold on. You may be asking yourselves, “ Adobe, what about those coupons? You guys didn’t just leave them there? “
Have no fear, I didn’t forget.

We had to tidy up our mess. PAX were instructed to Murder Bunny back to the “block holding area” and return the coupons to their cozy homes. Well, a little mercy was shown, and the Q decided to only Murder Bunny half way back and carry the coupons the rest of the way home.

Mosey back to the main parking lot …. Time. Dead.

Oh my….that was a bad idea. Who invites these guys to Q?

All in all, I had us down for 1216 possible reps, if you include all the double counts, burpee’s and Wheel of Merkins.

Legs are jello and pain today. But, the Snack Packs certainly helped!

Thank you Van Gogh for the Q save and having music available. This workout would have been even more terrible w/o it. Q – Fail on my part.

Strong work gentlemen. Very thankful for you guys and being able to give back today. @SourMash, thank you for coordinating and leading the Clemmons roadside cleanup that followed the workout this morning. Great turn out for that event.
