When a site-Q as esteemed as Resistor reaches out to ask you to Q, the only answer is “What day?”  Well today was YHC’s day.  Not letting poor fitness, general malaise, nor an iffy forecast keep me from my appointed round at Redline, a plan was dusted off, the call to join was shared, and pax responded!

Redline was launched in 1983 by a young and spry Toto, back when he had full energy to give.  YHC was there on that fateful morn along with some other pax who have left our fair city.  The vision was clear, get the heart rate up in shorter bursts, and try to keep Mongoose happy.  One of two ain’t bad.

It was a veritable who’s who of F3 dashpax royalty.  At least a couple were influenced to appear because of the Q, not because YHC is worth seeing, but they knew it couldn’t be “that bad” if the chunky kid was leading. #ouch  There was hope that a 2nd ex-Nantan would appear,  but evidently he got back from a trip out west a couple weeks ago and still hasn’t gotten adjusted to the time zone change.

So, the pax gathered, 0530 struck, and we began!

Warm0rama

• SSH attempted before bottles and rotten vegetables began being hurled at the Q
• Fine, we’ll just do some running
• High knees
• kickers of butts
• Apollo Creeds

The Thang

• This is a real thing, YHC didn’t just make it up
• Pax gathered near the base of Glade
• Sprint up Glade for 45 seconds
• Then take 3 minute recovery and do it again
  • Repeato x 6?
  • Last time up pax, ok Palin, wanted to sprint for 60 seconds, allowed
• Head to the track
• Sprint straights, walk/jog curves for 2 laps
• Mosey back to parking lot

6 Minutes of Mary

• What?  Mary at Redline?  Is that allowed?
• Ended with Whirly has the Clap for some good stretching

NMM

• Suede needs a new headlight, be sure to remind him
• Toto needs a hairbrush, or maybe that’s the new English style
• Frostbite just moved to town from the Queen City, so be sure to bug him often, he may have been the pax taking a shot at the Q’s fitness level
• Mongoose might have done some complaining about the long recovery time between sprints, he took it out on passing cars
• Resistor isn’t dead, but his memory is a little hit or miss
• A certain older lady was truly perplexed why a dozen guys were standing in the middle of Glade.  She rolled by and gave us all the stink eye.  Potentially she thought we were up to no good, but once Cobra slammed his badge and gun on her window, she moved along.
• Litter box just kept running, ran right out of his shirt
• Earl Grey posted for the 3rd time since being EH’d by Ink Spot, woohoo!
• Manscape is a silent assassin
• Balco played chicken with some cars, Glade gets busy
• The workout was sufficient for YHC, so that’s really all that matters
