Burns’ Hell Week Day 1 – The Reaper Comes to The Estate 11.2.2020

QIC: Burns

Date: 11.2.2020

PAX: Boo Boo, Zima, Root Canal (WD), Cherry Pie, Drip, Van Gogh, Turnover, Burns (WB/QIC)

Day 1 of Burns’ Hell Week warranted a visit from The Reaper – a workout popularized by Cobra and Thistle, if I recall correctly. There are a couple of different versions of the workout…a clarification that was needed once I explained the beatdown and Zima adamantly said, “Dude, this isn’t The Reaper.” Cobra’s version (which I have done before and tried to emulate) can be found here: https://www.f3winstonsalem.com/f3/the-grimreaper-celebrates-2-years/  Thistle’s version (which I have also done before and did not want to re-live) is documented here: https://www.f3winstonsalem.com/f3/is-plagiarism-always-wrong-it-was-this-time/  or here: https://www.f3winstonsalem.com/f3/some-ideas-you-shouldnt-steal/  Apparently Mongoose has used this format before, too.

Bottom line – stations of exercises with running halfway through and at the completion of each station. Pax got after it and got those heartrates up quickly, making the chilly morning have a lesser effect.

After a brief WoR (SSH, IST, Ww/TC, MP all x12 IC so Root Canal could do Root Canal things), we moseyed to the lower lot to find our 5 stations:

We split up into three groups to stay socially distant, and all three groups made it through the full workout. Cherry Pie decided that his group was moving too slow after the third station or so, and he jetted ahead to try and complete a sixth station. He would’ve gotten away with it too, if it wasn’t for that meddlin Q calling Mary with a minute left. The three #respects fell in together and dominated the workout, rolling back to the launch point after their last lap right as time was up. YHC paired up with Van Gogh, which is usually a bad idea, and it proved to be so today – he has been busting ass to refinish his basement and as a result has tweaked his back a little bit, but still was pushing me to my limits as he was going through the exercise lists (modifying as necessary).

All of the above HIMs are eligible for the coveted prize of my open tab at Juggheads on Sunday afternoon – be it noted here that Palin, Huckleberry, and Plunger are all still eligible as well due to their Q duties today. YHC has determined that a prior Q commitment should not disqualify you from the free beer at the end of the week. Thus, Cherry Pie (Mayhem) and Boo Boo (Impossible Situation) are still potential award winners too.  All PAX should still come post at Juggs on Sunday for the #2ndF opportunity that awaits, regardless!

Tomorrow YHC has an Election Day Special brewing for the #Flatliners. Please consider joining!

Prayers were requested for those exposed to COVID-19 and for the state of our country as we enter into this uncertain election week.

Thanks for the keys, H.O.G., the Reaper took them with him back to the underworld.

Great start to the week, and enjoyed the company! Don’t forget that all of today’s other Qs should still be eligible for the prize at the end of the week (Huckleberry, Palin, Plunger). YHC can’t promise attendance at all 7, but will make as many as I can!
