I’m the map, I’m the map, I’m….smoked

QIC: Gucci

Date: July 15, 2019

PAX: Drama Queen, Schneider, Fender, Buzz Lightyear, Vegemite, Starfish

This was YHCs 2nd Q at #VI in the past 3 weeks, and he decided to try something new today.  After the usual #Gucciwarmup, we took on a new version of Dora where teams would leap frog and call their teammate up when they arrived.  The Q decided to call this “The Map”, and if you have kids….you know.  It was a solid group of guys that attacked this challenge with speed an agility, so here we go!

The Thang:

As stated above, this was a new take (to the Q at least) on Dora.  Here is how it goes in a 2-partner team, on the track behind the Y at #VI.  First partner starts the exercise while the second jogs/runs to the next, when partner 2 hits the point, they call their partner’s name to run forward, while partner two starts their exercise.  When partner 1 rejoins their partner, they add their counts for a total, and partner 2 bounds forward again while 1 gets back into exercising….rinse and repeat.  The track was broken into 6 points, with legs across the short ends, and the long stretches being roughly broken in half.  When the exercises were done, all participants completed the lap they were on, and went to the shelter for Mary.  Here were the exercises:

  • ‘Merican – 100 count
  • Heels to Heaven – 200 count
  • Jumping Jacks – 300 count
  • Squats – 200 count
  • Mountain Climbers – 100 count (every right leg)

Mary (all in cadence)

  • LBC – 20 count
  • Penguin Crunch – 15 count
  • Low Dolly – 15 count
  • American Hammer – 15 count
  • Alabama Prom Dates – 15 count

Announcements were short and familiar:

  • Schmedfest is quickly approaching!  The event will be August 24th @ the Fairgrounds.  Rumor is that there will be 3x live bands, and fun for the whole family….all for what you can give in donations to the Crisis Control Ministry.
  • Fender is also involved with Arts for Life and is looking to sponsor an F3 Table for the following event.  As a note, if you sign up, use Fender’s hospital name of Marty Edwards
