Just Think How Wet We Would Have Been at Tanglewood

QIC: Drama Queen

Date: 02/16/2019

PAX: Starfish, Sgt Schultz, 60 Minutes, Fingers, Blue Light Special (FNG), Drama Queen (QIC)

It’s been a while since YHC has typed a backblast so just in case – PAX :  Starfish, Sgt Schultz, 60 Minutes, Fingers, Blue Light Special (FNG) and Drama Queen (QIC)

The third week of Charlie Foxtrot brought the inevitable rain.  Numbers were back to Dawg Pound levels but still a mix of some faces that were not DP regulars including an FNG so we’re making progress by some measure.

YHC viewed the forecast and scouted the AO for rain friendly spots on Friday evening.  One of the finest shelters in all the Dash was located and a plan devised.  By the appointed time 5 other pax had gathered and we briefly learned that our FNG was an old college roommate of Starfish.  Disclaimer was given but no time for wild stories of Wake Forest in the late 80s – we had work to do.  We moseyed over to the bus shelter at the school and began with :

Our FNG Blue Light Special (fka Andy Packard) as mentioned is an old roommate of Starfish.  He has recently returned to the Dash to work at Inmar after a stint with KMart/Sears.  He briefly protested Blue Light Special and that was all it took.  BLS it was.  You’ll have to ask Starfish or BLS his college nickname – #muchworse

There were several math problems of the day that the pax eventually conquered.  100+200+200 = 500 according to the plethora of Wake grads in attendance but YHC lost count somewhere in the squats. We needed markers for every 4th brick post for the beast because of our fear of counting to 4.  Finally, counting off with only 6 pax proved somewhat difficult.

The shelter was accommodating for the rain and the pain.  Sgt Schultz even had a premonition of Dora before YHC called it.  Pax were strong thru The Beast with a fair amount of MC that sounded like “You’re a great man DQ”  or something like that.

Good to see 60 Minutes getting on a regular WeFoCo schedule.  He’s still wondering if he will ever see his coworker Mongoose at the new Sat bootcamp after The Surly One enthuanized Dawg Pound.

Fingers continues to be riddled with guilt after the death of DP.  Not really but he could still use a site Q for Charlie Foxtrot.

Clemmons Biscuitville is a little crowded on Sat AM.  Possible Coffeeteria relocation.  Discussion open on that subject.

The AO has a ton of potential and YHC has enjoyed the change in 2 postings there.  Put the EH on some WeFoCo pax and let’s build this Sat boot camp.

COT

YHC took us out.  Prayers for the country in wake of another shooting.  YHC also added a little closing learned in Greenville SC and is especially good for the Respects in the crowd – “There will come a day when I am not able to do this … (pax response) but today is not that day.”

Always an honor

BLS – solid first post! Not sure many Pax would have come out under such rainy conditions. Great looking beatdown DQ!
