If MC = Affection, then call me Stormy Daniels

QIC: Thistle

Date: 5/15/2018

PAX: Beverly, Palin, Van Gogh, Lite Brite (WD), TPS, Pita, Zima, Mutton, Cherry Pie, Roosevelt, Root Canal and Thistle (QIC)

You know you are in trouble when the MC starts while you are reciting the F3 mission – a tough crowd, but they would be beaten into submission.  Wanted to try some new exercises this morning, so I looked in the lexicon.  Did not need to go farther than the “A”s to get some fun ideas.  The MC combination of Lite Brite and Zima began well before 5:30 – with Palin, or some skinny guy who looks like Palin, jumping in too – it was time to mosey and put the MC behind me.

When your mosey begins on a steep downhill, the MC begins to develop a delicious, nervous edge to it.  We stopped along the way to do some SSH and Abe Vigodas (expert cadence accompanied by endless correction and distraction – Van Gogh is kinda a rigid, Type A guy sometimes), then up a hill to the baseball stadium to try some new hip flexibility exercises like Fire Hydrants(?), People’s Chair without the wall and cross one foot over the other knee, Arm Swirly things, then down a hill and up to Bob Grubbs Carpet Store.  I thought the parking lot may be carpeted, but the PAX said it wasn’t and the concrete hurt their knees (Oh my…), so we did Frankensteins and Heels to Heaven.

Then down the hill to the Quiet Pint parking lot for some real fun – Absolutions.  This exercise was demonstrated and instructed to do 20 OYO by the Q — either the PAX were not paying attention, could not get it because they went to Duke or just mutinied.  I think #3, but #2 makes me smile.  We then did the Ascending Curb Crawl between curb stops in the parking lot – FYI, that’s a lot of bear crawling, that’s a lot of merkins and that brought out more Q abuse — ahhh, Q success.

Much more was planned and will stay in my Weinke bank for next time, so we moseyed back up First Street and onto Burke and then Fourth, stopping periodically for the six, but it was a very tight bunch.  At one point we stopped to do a short Plank Ring of Fire with various types of merkins – this was a real crowd pleaser.  The mosey back to the CoT was tough up those hills.  Van Gogh told us his IT band was hurting and running was hard for him, but some of us could not hear him since he was at the front of the pack.  I think we did a little Mary, but who remembers… I am sure I forgot a few exercises, but you get the gist.

Pita needs Qs for Flatine in June, Zima needs Qs for Mayhem in September

Prayers for those battling addiction – Cherry Pie and Mutton know a family whose daughter is being treated for depression – Pita asked prayers for Cheryl, whose husband recently passed.

What an honor to Q this group – a couple of additional observations:

  • Beverly’s hair always looks good no matter how fast he runs
  • TPS is a grinder
  • Pita has the soft reassuring voice of a physician
  • When Cherry Pie smiles he worries me – I think he enjoys my pain
  • Root Canal is sneaky fast, not “Jimmy Johns” fast, maybe “Porta Johns” fast
  • Zima and Lite Brite can offer Q feedback no matter how out of breath they are
  • Lite Brite was the WD and I am a close second, but we are still competing…  watch out Arbor Acres (you’re welcome Zima)

Way to beat down the MC. Looks tough.

It was 30 Absolutions, not 20, which might explain why you thought none of us could get there. Thistle Qs are always an adventure and certainly unpredictable. You definitely broke your own record for “Most Climb during Flatline”. I think we went up 300 ft in around 2 mi. And that doesn’t even explain my sore triceps today. Nice work.

And nice BB – very close approximation to actual events.
