6x6x6 is not the Antichrist, but close… #TheEstate

YHC was short on bootcamp ideas for this one. Fortunately, @Starfish offered up the idea of a Steely Dan play list, which was great, but still no exercises. After Googling bootcamp ideas, YHC found this thing called a “6×6” workout. Seemed like a good idea – 6 reps of anything doesn’t seem too bad. And if “6×6” is good, a “6x6x6” would be even better, right? Well, YHC should have gotten a clue that three 6’s together is bad mojo, and when the radio played Mr Crowley on the way in, it was a foreboding of the hell to come….

Still, 18 PAX gathered unwittingly in the cool(er) but humid gloom of #TheEstate for a Labor Day convergence that, on paper, didn’t seem too bad. What was to follow could sub for the next installment of the “Saw” movie series…

6×6 Warm-o-rama:
6 reps each repeato x6 OYO

  • SSH + Running w/ Scissors
  • Mountain Climbers + Merkins
  • Overhead Claps + IST

Mosey to the “Waterfall Field”…

6x6x6 Workout from hell

  • Gather in the middle of the soccer field
  • x6 Burpees in the middle of the field
  • 6×6 for the exercises at each of the six “corners” of the field
  • Run back to the middle & repeato
  1. Squats + Squat Jumps
  2. Diamond Merkins + CDD
  3. Lunges + Back Lunges (alternate legs each set)

  5. Turkish Getups + Prisoner Getups
  6. Pickle Pounder + Monkey Humpers

While we’re at the field, we decided we might as well do the ever popular Tunnel of Love

And we’re spent…

Mosey back to start for…

  • F3 WS website (f3wistonsalem.com): The Google Calendar is on the “workouts” page. Attn: Site Q’s – Please make sure the Google Calendar is populated with your schedules
  • F3 Expansion: Chicago 9/23, St Louis 10/14, Austin 10/28. If you know any men in those cities, send their names & email addresses to @f3nation.com (e.g.

  • @CapriSun informed us that @VanGogh did not use proper form on the #BodyDestroyers; he was probably doing a #Murph or something…
  • Seems like most everybody (YHC included) hated this workout; I guess I did my job (the verdict is in: YHC is a jerk)
  • @Jiminy had actually posted to #VI this morning, but thanks to #Slack (and @VanGogh), he got the notification to come to #TheEstate. (I think he wishes he would have missed it after all…)
  • Debate over the efficacy of #Slack continues, with two camps emerging:
the @VanGogh camp (pro) and the @Mongoose camp (contra). (Note: This is a certified @Mongoose mention in the backblast)
  • “If you can’t do it, don’t Q it” is a loose guideline, especially when it comes to multiple sets of Burpees and Turkish/Prisoner getups…
  • Thanks for the honor and privilege of serving by Q’ing a convergence at this beautiful AO; you guys knocked it out of the park today…

Great beatdown, @Fingers! I think I preferred the “Starfish from Hell” optional title you gave… just seemed fitting since Starfish was there, and crushing it. Nice to meet Jiminy today, glad the #Slack comms helped!

Solid work. Leadership and music were great. Crew was usual entertainment. Great start to the day.
