Mayhem comes to Jamison

QIC: Red Eye

Date: 9/27/17

PAX: Splash, Rust Bucket (WD), Huckleberry, Burlap, Quiver, Drama Queen, The Pony Express, Spamalot, Touch-me-not (WB), Fingers, Balco, Senor Froggy, Red Eye (QIC)

Thirteen Pax elected to take their DRP (which evidently didn’t agree with one Pax, so we finished with 12) at Mayhem this fine morning.  Hopefully the side effects for the rest of the Pax will be more positive.

Warm-o-rama

All done in cadence . . .

  • SSHs x 20
  • Hillbillies x 15
  • Seal claps x 15
  • Arm swirly things forward x 10
  • Arm swirly things back x 10

Mosey to Jamison Park by way of bus lot/middle school back entrance.
We paused at rock pile by Jamison’s parking lot to find a medium-sized rock friend and continued to the finest park shelter in the Dash.
Everyone (except Q) deposited their rock somewhere and grab a seat along the wall. While in People’s Chair, we passed the rock down the line and then passed it back.  Repeato.
During the second wall sit/rock passing, the Pax counted off to form three groups.
Tha Thang
Using their respective rocks, the pax started with
  • 15 curls
  • 15 overhead press
  • 15 skull crushers

Leaving their rocks at the shelter, each group ran to their respective station to start (group 1/station 1, etc.) to do the designated exercises, thoughtful provided by the Q on a Weinke.

Station 1 – playground stairwell
  • Ascending/descending Tooth Fairy (irkin your way up the stairs, then derkin your way down)
  • 15 Bobby Hurleys
  • 10 CDDs
Station 2 – picnic island near shelter
  • step ups – L x10
  • 15 dips
  • step ups – R x10
  • 15 dips
Station 3 – picnic island by dog park
  • 15 Irkins
  • 15 Dirkins
  • 10 Irkins
  • 10 Dirkins
  • 5 Irkins
  • 5 Dirkins
After completing each station, groups returned to the shelter, grabbed their rocks, and did
  • 15 curls
  • 15 overhead press
  • 15 skull crushers
Go to next station and repeato until hit all three stations.
The group then returned the rocks to their home and moseyed towards the bus lot by way of the middle school covered walkway.  There was a plea for more arm/upper body work, and fortunately, the Q had that in the plan already.
Starting at one end of the walkway, the Pax bear crawled the distance of two of the covered walkway’s support posts, did 10 merkins, and then bear crawled another two posts, did another 10 merkins, and repeato until covering the full walkway – 5 lengths, 50 merkins total.
We then moseyed back to start for some quality Mary.
  • Plank ~1 min.
  • American Hammer
  • Mutton Crunches
  • Plank ~45 sec.
  • Heels to Heaven
  • LBCs
  • Plank ~30 sec.
  • Box cutters

NMM

  • For some strange reason, four pax (Splash, Fingers, Drama Queen, and Spamalot) showed up at YHC’s Monday Q and today’s at Mayhem.
  • YHC also tried not to repeat much from Monday since my legs/glutes were crazy sore (should’ve listened to DQ about too many squats).  Probably upper body’s turn to bark.
  • Brookberry was not well represented today.
  • Jamison Park really is nice, and WS didn’t skimp on the quality of the picnic tables/benches, either.  Solid.
  • As we were wrapping up at the shelter, Burlap was worried about what happened to his group’s Weinke . . . tclaps to Pax who are mindful to take care of the Dash’s AOs.
  • Kotters to Touch-me-not, who hasn’t been able to post for a while as he’s been helping to take care of his grandmother in her last weeks.
  • The Q assured the Pax that we wouldn’t be running with their rock, and that was mostly true despite Balco thinking otherwise.
  • YHC doesn’t think Quiver knows how to break a sweat.
  • Rust Bucket takes no shortcuts, even when the Q encourages it.
  • Splash seemed to enjoy the planking during Mary, despite the form critique that was going on.
  • Speaking of form in general, Huckleberry’s got the good kind.
  • Senor Froggy retreated after we got to the shelter b/c he was under the weather.  He left his rock with the Pax, so he really, really must have not been feeling it.  Get well.

Thanks for the keys, Splash!  Always a pleasure to Q such a fine group.

SYITG,
Red Eye

Strong beatdown. I thought the bear crawl merkin thing was time wasting but Red Eye says it was planned and I believe him. Thanks to Quiver, Spam and TPE for group 2 work.
