QIC: Turnover

PAX: @Manscape (WD) ; @THE Singing Cowboy ; @Bam ; @Bluto ; @Autobot (WB) ; @TO (Q)

Have you ever seen a wooden weinke?

Before we get into the re-telling of today’s #BnW beatdown, allow me to tell a brief story about how the prep for said beatdown began.

@Bam, being the excellent site Q that he is, reached out to YHC on Monday to confirm I was still good to Q at this prestigious AO today. YHC, having totally forgotten about it, responded in the affirmative. “Yeah man, I got you!”. Now the planning begins. The idea for the beatdown came easily enough, but today would not be YHC’s first rodeo at #BnW. Excellent tunes and cardboard weinkes are hard requirements for this AO. You might think “Cardboard? No biggie. It’s 2026. We all have 9 dozen Amazon boxes laying around our houses at any given time. All good.”. Well, let me tell you, dear reader, it was not in fact “all good” for this guy. Rewind to last Saturday. YHC was trying to be a diligent homeowner and clear out any unnecessary clutter from my garage. At the time, there were, in fact, 9 dozen Amazon boxes just chilling in YHC’s garage. “This cannot stand”, YHC thought to himself. So, I loaded all that beautiful cardboard up in the TO-mobile and disposed of it at the recycling center on Yadkinville Rd. Fast-forward to last night. YHC, 9 dozen cardboard boxes lighter, is scrambling to find something, anything to write the prescribed exercises for today’s beatdown on. Luckily, thanks to several in-flight house projects, I had some scrap plywood boards laying around. Weinke problem: solved. The elements of the beatdown were scribed onto the plywood, the playlist was selected, the speaker was charged. We’re good to go, baby.

Now. Let’s get into it.

The assembled PAX are contemplating the approximate sizes of bushels and pecks (more on that later) and the clock strikes 0530. Time to go.

Intro, Mission Statement, Core Principles recited. Check.

NMM

@Bam, @Bluto, and @TSC all got their usual EC Ruck in.

As we were assembling for WoR, the aforementioned trio was discussing an upcoming event where our own @Blue Steel will be selling peaches (I think?). Pursuant to that conversation, the topic of what constitutes a “bushel” and a “peck” and the differences between the two arose. Many offered their takes. Let’s just say some were closer than others in their assessment(s). For the inquiring minds among us, here is the official answer courtesy of Google.

To the surprise of nobody, TSC was spot on.

As mentioned above, @Autobot, followed closely by @Bam, was out in front all morning. It was YHC’s first time posting with @Autobot so it was great to meet him and great to know we’ve got another absolute DAWG among us in #F3WS.

@Manscape went full @Manscape and was our #SilentAssassin for the morning. No jibber-jabber. Just hard work. #RespectRespectRespect.

YHC, @Bluto, and @TSC enjoyed exchanging pleasantries for the duration of the morning. Always great to catch up with these #HIMs. We mostly shared stories of our recent adventures involving pets (our own and otherwise). Quick takeaways from those conversations: 1) Cats are the worst. 2) Domestic rabbits have an average life expectancy of 8-12 years, while wild rabbits have a much shorter life expectancy (roughly 1-2 years) due to predation, disease, and food scarcity. 3) Oliver the beagle is not to be trifled with.

As always, it was genuinely an honor to lead the PAX this morning. Thanks to all who posted.

Thanks for the keys @Bam. They’re in the island in the parking lot, soaked to the bone (along w/ YHC’s phone and speaker) by the over-active sprinkler system the Greenbrier-ite’s (Greenbrier-ans?) have going.
