The story of today’s Parliament actually starts yesterday or even the day before when YHC picked up the Q for RnG on Monday and promptly slept through all alarms and missed said Q. In search of quick redemption, YHC jumped at the chance to lead when @Greenspan reached out looking for a substi-Q. Time to make up for lost….uh…time.

YHC arrived at the AO today thinking that it looked a little dimmer than it usually does. A few HIMs were already mid-EC run/ruck and @Blind Date and YHC made it to the usual warmup area at the same time.

Upon arriving at said warmup area (weinke, gloves, and speaker in hand) YHC realized I had snagged two right handed gloves from the truck. No worries, I’ll just run back to the truck real quick. In so doing, YHC jogged past an unidentified PAX (remember that time I said it was very dim in the parking lot…and there was a car pulling in behind said PAX, so all I saw was a faceless, shadowy figure telling me good morning). Turns out this was none other than @Spamalot himself…and YHC just jogged right past him like he was just some shmo. As we all know, he’s NOT just some shmo….he’s OUR shmo. Sincerest #cobains were provided to Mr. ‘Lot and bro hugs were exchanged.

The PAX kept pouring in and at 0529, YHC made his way to the middle of the Warm o Rama circle that had organically formed in this very, very dim parking lot. Let’s see what we got into.

Mission Statement and CP’s were recited, though they were interrupted by @Zima’s out-loud ramblings and incredulity of seeing YHC in the middle of the circle. “Wait, what? Where is @Greenspan!?”

Back to the parking lot where we all lined up at the first parking spot looking out toward the bus lot in the distance.

YHC cranked up the tunes and dished out the instructions.

Complete the called exercises for the called # of reps then bear crawl down to the orange cone about 20ish yards away and bear crawl back. Then Repeato until time. The circuit went as follows :

At roughly 0612 we returned our blocks and circled up for the briefest of MARY/Plank Hold.

Done.

All PAX completed at least 4 full rounds of the circuit + bear crawls, but a handful of guys got way more than that. Really strong work, boys.

@Ziffel was so excited to share his announcement that he actually shared it mid-beatdown. @Ziffel will be your Q at #Parliament for next week AND the week after (!?!?!). He’s pumped. We’re all pumped. @Ziffel assured everyone in the CoT that these upcoming Q’s would be “very bonding”……….I’m sure it/they/we will be. Appreciate your leadership, buddy!

@Drip has the keys at #Alcatraz this Saturday

@Wahoo has the keys at #BnW and @Adobe has the keys at #Conspiracy on Wednesday, but those coincide with @Rollback leading #MayHIM on Wednesday where we will start the beatdown at 0515, get 30 minutes of work in and then spend 30 minutes getting some solid 2ndF in. So if you hate @Rollback and/or Fellowship, please feel free to post at #BnW or #Conspiracy tomorrow. Otherwise, get your John Brown hindparts out to Jamison Park at 0515.

No Prayer Requests were shared, so YHC took us out simply giving Him thanks for everything we have been given.

As mentioned above, it was great to see @Spam for the first time since he’s been back. Welcome back, brother.

As promised, YHC brought the tunes, and the tunes BROUGHT IT. Elite as always. A little upbeat late 90’s Country mix!? Hello! George Strait, Shania Twain, Tim McGraw, and Jo Dee Messina not once, but twice!? All I can say to the PAX in attendance is: You’re Welcome.

Oddly enough, the playlist was a hot topic of discussion. Some of the discussion ranged from the following: @Zima complaining about it literally from start to finish, somebody to YHC’s right (maybe @Adobe or @Wahoo) recognizing the tune of Jo Dee Messina’s “Heads Carolina, Tails California” and saying “ooooh, is this like…the original?”…clearly referring to a recent remake (see: bastardization) of the song by one Cole Swindell (who publicly associates himself with the single worst institution known to the human race: georgia southern university, or as YHC likes to refer to it as The Stink) YHC will not tolerate any slander of Ms. Messina nor any association of this classic song to the modern-day rubbish some bro-country try hard copped off her…….I digress…….@Spamalot started the beatdown working immediately next to YHC but somehow found his way down to the other end of the line at some point (I’m sure that had nothing to do with the music), @Cruiser wondered aloud if Beyonce’s “Texas Hold ‘Em” could be found on this playlist and while YHC loves him some Queen B, I informed @Cruiser that she likely wouldn’t be making an appearance this morning. Despite all of this, YHC and @Singing Cowboy (my dawwwwgggggg) positioned ourselves directly next to the speaker all morning and we had an excellent time attempting to sing along with the music in between deep gasps for air while completing our reps.

The setup of the beatdown today wasn’t super conducive for a lot of MC, but YHC overheard snipits of some solid 2ndF happening while enjoying chatting it up with the guys in my vicinity.

I say it every time, but it’s the truth: it was an honor to lead today. Really appreciate everyone who posted.

Thanks for the keys @Adobe. I left them in the smack-dab center of the parking lot, but you’ll have to wait until the sun fully rises to be able to see anything out there.
