A Rainy 4x4x4
QIC: Doublewide
Date: 8/5/2025
PAX: Balco, Hitman, Interference, Pollster, Whac a Mole, Wooly Bugger
When I got up this morning, I saw it was raining and got right back in bed…then realized I had to Q. Suck! I had at least hoped that others would feel the same and no one would come, so I could leave Hanes Park and get back in bed. But unfortunately (which I only later appreciated), several PAX showed up.
The Thang:
We did our customary lap around Hanes Park and I finally caught up to the group at the bottom of The Intimidator. But I surprised everyone by not stopping and asking them to follow me. We stopped instead at the bottom of Forsyth, which made people grumble about wanting to go back to The Intimidator. We ran up Forsyth four times, then moseyed to the track. We started with 4 x 100s and finished with 4 x 400s, which made for a nice 4-4-4 workout. PAX at the COT were unnecessarily kind when speaking of the plan (though notice Mongoose was not present).
In the end, I realized (yet again) the reason why I come and show up multiple times a week to F3. When I try to do it by myself, it’s easy for me to hit snooze, go back to bed, and spend the rest of the day angry at myself for sleeping in. I’m sure there’s a metaphor for life that someone smarter than me can connect here. I’ll just say I’m grateful for these men and grateful for F3 and leave it there.
Announcements:
- Pollster Q’d OGs Friday and followed up on his promise to post the route NOT Thursday night
- Wooly Bugger has a birthday Q this week (tomorrow) and will plan do things in 4s
Prayers – none mentioned
Naked Man Moleskin
- Hitman and I used to be running buddies at Redline, but now he has progressed to the faster group, who he ran with again today. Miss hanging out with you in the back of the group!
- Speaking of that faster group, Pollster, Interference, and Balco once again led the way. Strong work!
- It wasn’t until we ran all the way around Hanes Park and to the bottom of Forsyth that I realized Wooly Bugger was there. Maybe it was the dark, maybe it was the rain – but glad you came out!
- I got to hang out with Whac a Mole during most of this route, which was great. He’s been coming out for about a month and this was his first Redline. Running hills and speed work may not sound like fun, but I hope you come out again!
Thanks for the keys today, Wooly – you can find them at the top of Forsyth.
