Tis the season to run. Lots of training going on for various races which make for mushy legs, sweat puddles, and humid temps.
@Chomper asked me to Q a while back as he was transitioning SiteQ duties. I dutifully obliged but then got hurt. #RunningIsStupid. Got myself back on the calendar to help @WoolyBugger out and away we went. This is my #VQ at this esteemed AO so started to visit a few weeks back and quickly realized that I am out of my league. These dudes are #HIMs and #Fastholes
Last week @Draftee visited and took too long to get started and then ended a few minutes early, I saw the rebuttal and grief he got, YHC kept it simple and easy. Here is how it went:
Warmarama:
Lap around the park to get the blood moving and HR up. We stopped at the base of the Intimidator (moans begin)
The Thang:
Run up to Carolina Jersey
Recover Mosey to Track
100m ON. 100m Recover
200m ON. 100m Recover
400m ON. 100m Recover
600m ON. 200m Recover
Run up to Jersey and mosey back.
Rinse and Repeat.
Most got through 2 rounds of this. Overall, 4.52 miles covered by my calculation. Strong Work, men!
NMM:
@TaxBreak immediately turned some heads this AM. True #Fasthole and lapped us all. YHC and @TB are new neighbors and he flagged me down asking about F3. He did F3 in Charlotte aka #Daddy (where they take themselves really seriously). Supposedly when @TB announced he was moving to WS, he was met with a “Have fun getting fat” comment. YHC tried to tell him the folks up here are okay, too.
@TB flew by @Pinky and @Padre on the first run, and immediately the murmur started about who this guy is
@Chomper was on his heels for most of the AM. “The run to Jersey sucks after the 600m” – yeah I could have thought that one through
Lots of speculation and questioning where we would end up on the track before heading up the Intimidator:
@Palin: “Did you map it out” – Negative
@Pinky: “I think we will end near Turn 3” – That was wrong
Ultimately, we ended up at Turn 4 which made it an easy recovery run to the base.
@Pollster got some EC miles in
@Resistor was sighted doing Jump Ropes beforehand. No whistle in tow.
@Balco wondered where the Q was
@WoolyBugger: “That was not a warmup lap; I am going to have to add some sanctions” – That means I did the whole Q thing right, right?
@DeepDish came back out after his first post last week. Dude is an animal and just keeps chugging along. “I wanted to get good at running so here I am”
@Doublewide is not a fan of the new naming committee. “How can @Edge (a former Defensive End) get that name, while I am named after a trailer park” – You are loved, @DW – we are better with you with us. Strong work!
Speaking of @Edge, didn’t get to see him much today as he was out front all AM
@Pinky owns a cyber security that is a tree and trades derivatives off of it…? The things you hear when getting lapped.
@Suede was pushing to the end and with lots of encouragement. Thank you for that – it was much needed!
