YHC just about slept through my alarm this morning.   I knew I needed to set up IPC week 2 in the large field at Western Front.  So I threw on my gear, got my utility lights, cones, tunes and power pack in case the speaker was not charged.

I arrived at Western Front, and parking lot had quite a few cars there.  Rollback, Workbench, Schlitz, Slowpitch and Zyphr were rolling out for a 10k.

I pull in and I see the sprinklers going and I am saying Hell Yes to myself.  The Duck loves some moisture, especially sprinklers because I knew this one was going to suck.  I pulled out my trusty measuring wheel to step off the 100 yards of running and the 25 yards of bear crawling.

The Thang

45-minute AMRAP.

Start at the goal line.

  • Complete the following sequence:
  • Run 100 yards
  • 12 Bonnies (2-count)
  • Bernie 100 yards (back to start line)
  • 12 HR Muricans
  • Jimothy Bear Crawl 25 yards
    • Finish with a somersault into the WW1s
  • 12 WW1s
  • Crawl Bear 25 yards (back to start line)
  • 12 Burpees

That is Round 1.

Then raise the number.

THE ROUNDS

Round 1: 12 reps of each exercise

Round 2: 24 reps

Round 3: 36 reps

Round 4: 48 reps

Round 5: 60 reps

SCORING

Your score is:

Stop where you are when the clock expires.

  1. The round number you were working on
  2. Number of reps for exercise you were working or . . .
  3. Distance you traveled towards next station
  4. Use those to tally your cumulative score

NMM:

  • DQ is a beast. Him and Super Fly were in their own world.
  • Hugo – fresh off a trip to Iceland was feeling it, but did not look like he lost a step
  • Rudolph – back on the regular routine and got after it hard. Him and YHC were remembering how great the 80’s and 90’s were, and how it was such a simpler time.
  • Draftee, Ziffel and Sea-Man were holding strong. I did not hear much mumble chatter out of them, so I know they were working hard.
  • VG and Tonka were both pushing each other extremely hard and they had at least one round ahead of the group.
  • Adobe – that rug really tied the room together
  • TO – still can’t pull out of a garage (inside joke)
  • Frostbite was super brave for listening to all of us old men complain. I am waiting on a text from him asking me to “please email me the rest of this story”.
  • Ironically the workout was called “Raise the Flag” and this was the first time I have forgotten that flag since we started this AO. Damn getting old sucks.

COT

  • Prayers for ailing relatives and friends
  • YHC mentioned for everyone to reach out to someone whom they have not heard from in a while. We never know what someone is going through.
  • I also mentioned that we need to look for the positive and not the negative. If we only look for obstacles, then that is what we will find.

I want to thank everyone who has supported this AO and who continues to.  I have had zero problems in getting Q’s and every workout has been tough and different.

We will push on.
