No Times for Rocks at TRQ

QIC: Green Acres

Date: 5-28-2026

PAX: Duff (WB), D-Day, BAM, The Singing Cowboy, Gold Watch, Superfly

YHC planned too much of a workout. Should’ve known better. But we had a great time since it was such a nice bunch of HIM. Took my bag O’ music out and hung it on a fence post and took off toward Peacehaven at my shuffling pace. Didn’t give myself enough of a head start so soon BAM and The Singing Cowboy flew past. Had to turn around early and they passed me again. I’m in the parking lot with 2 minutes to spare, trying to get tunes (Rocky Horror Picture Show) on the speakers. Blamed the last OS update for not connecting and realized later I simply didn’t turn the speakers on. 🙄 Oh well, started a minute late with the usual Warmarama. Then to lower portion of hill near the Rec Center for Dora 1,2,3. 100 WWII and partner bear crawled about 55 feet. Then 200 squats, partner did Toy Soldier walk. Then 300 merkins, partner lungewalked. Then YHC wanted to debut the James Brown, “get down, get back up again!”  Sadly the steps next to the Lido deck aren’t as tall as my porch steps where I had practiced this leg exercise that I learned in knee PT, so no one was impressed.  But stepping down then backing up on same step is challenging if the step is tall enough. Time wasted. Oh well. On to the Lido deck for:  15 IC of derkins, dips, Irkins, 15 RL and LL stepups, 30 IC LBC, and a round of Howling Monkeys. Already 6 so no time for rocks. Stroll to nearby playground for 10 pull-ups and back to start for Mary. Lo-flutter x 30 IC, 15 WWII OYO, and 3 Huck merkins and Done. Q was a sweaty mess and worn out. 🥵 The Pax not so much, with Gold Watch especially happy about all the points he’d racked up on his FL F3 challenge. Prayers were offered for graduations, aging parents and family members, peace in our world. We couldn’t come up with announcements except that D-Day reminded us to give blood. Was a great pleasure to lead this group.

Rocky Horror soundtrack was still playing on my phone. As we moved to the Lido deck, D-Day laughed and said “didn’t think I’d be working out to this today” as Janet sang “toucha toucha touch me!  I want to be dirty! 🎶” 🤣. I didn’t get close enough to hear (see “flew past me” above) but I think BAM and Singing Cowboy continued the conversation that started on their EC 2 miles. D-Day and his BIL Duff made a pair of 3 with Superfly for Dora, offering Omaha suggestions but still cruising through the work. Gold Watch was a great Dora partner, killing the reps the whole time so he and YHC finished first. Others were also about done, so I called for 20 more merkins for all and done with Dora. Also saw a really beautiful and colorful sunrise 🌅. Was just an all around great way to start my day with my F3 friends. 💙
