November 11, 1889 is the state of Washington’s birthday, the 42nd state in the Union. The theme of the workout and music playlist follows this very important day for YHC, his home state.

Warm-O-Rama

Mission Statement / 5 Core Principles

11 of each: SSHs, Abe Vigoda, Whirly with a Clap, Arm Swirly Things, Things Swirly Arm, Seal Claps, OH Claps, Michael Phelps, Moroccan Night Club, Left over right, Right over left. That’s right, 11 sets of 11 warm ups on 11/11/23.

The Thang

Mosey to the hill in the back.

The tallest mountain in NC is Mt. Mitchell, 6,684 feet tall. The tallest mountain in WA is Mt. Rainier, 14,410 feet; there are also 95 mountain peaks taller than Mt. Mitchell. The exercise is Burp Back Mountain. When the PAX heard this, there was much rejoicing. Partner up. One runs backward up the hill and the forward down, 5 times. The other does burpees, then switch. Total count of burpees for partners is 134 in honor of WA’s 134th birthday.

After most were done, we all left as a group, with maybe one or two left behind, Zima. Mosey to front of church by playground are. On May 18, 1980, Mt. St. Helens erupted, killing 57 people. In their honor, we did 57 Mountain Climbers.

Mosey to the entrance of the church. The popular game of Pickleball was created in 1965 on Bainbridge Island in WA, which is also the state sport. It is 58 years old, so 58 Pickle Pounders, might be on camera.

Mosey to the side parking lot in front of the Discipleship Center. 5 cones were set up, in the shape of WA, to do a modified Field of Dreams. The 5 cones were inspired by the 5 Physiographic Regions of WA.

  • Coastal – Curls
  • Western Lowlands – LBCs
  • Cascade Mountains – Mountain Climber Merkin
  • Columbia Plateau – Chinook Squats
  • Rocky Mountains – Rocky Balboa

Get a rock. Split into 5 groups. The group doing Curls counts to 42, for the 42nd state, others AMRAP. Once down, all move on to the next cone. We did one around.

Mosey to the parking lot in the front corner of church. Grab a parking lot line. Since the day was 11/11, we did 2 sets of 11s. The exercises were inspired by the agricultural economy of WA, which is the number 1 producer of a number of produce. WA is the largest producer of Hops, so 11s of SSH Jumps and Zig-Zag Hops. When done, we did Apple Turnovers up and down the parking lot for probably well-known fact that lots of Apples are grown in WA. Next number one producer is Sweet Cherries. So in honor of Cherry Pie, we did 11s of Arm Swirly Things and Burpees.

Mary

Mosey back to start with just enough time to do 11 low flutters and end with body destroyers.
