The Eras Tour Comes to WeFoCo!

QIC: Goofy

Date: 6/20/2023

PAX: Goofy (QIC), Singing Cowboy, Burlap (WD), Sgt Schultz, Subfloor, Crusier, SourMash, Adobe, Frizzle; Runners: Van Gogh, Huckleberry (didn’t catch the WB)

Nine pax can now say they attended an Eras concert without 1) having to pay $1,000 a ticket or 2) listen to Taylor Swift for 3 hours.  But they did have to put up with a technology challenged old man, his Spotify playlist, and a workout written in sharpie on cardboard.  2 showed up right on time for the COT.

With rain forecasted, it was designed to be in one place and went something like this.

Warm-a-Rama – The usual fare of SSH’s and stuff.  Oh and some, Baby Yodas (see NMM)

Go grab a block and return to the front of the school.

Main Event:  This was in the style of Total Request live workouts that I stole from @TotalRecall or @Burlap or both.  Three exercises with assigned number of reps were chosen for each song.  We repeated the three from the beginning to the end of each song.  For example, 30 Curls, 20, squats, and 6 burpees. (All the reps added up to 56 or 58) Then a new set of exercises was chosen.  I tired to mix four categories up 1) Chest, Tricep, Shoulders, 2) Back, Bicep, Abs, 3) Legs, 4) Combination aerobic/strength (ie Burpee)  My guess is that we did about 8 different songs.

Mary:  The usual again, but highlighted by the Sarge Sit-up challenge.  “All the way up!, half way down!, etc”

NMM

  • The Playlist was songs from the decades (aka Eras) from 1960’s to today!  I had to actually ask ChatGPT for good rock workout songs from the 2010’s and 20’s!
  • The combined counts the the three repeating exercises were 56  for @PonyExpress’s age and 58 for YHC’s age.  Honored to share a birthday with @THEPonyExpress
  • Somebody in Warm-a-Rama called Imperial Walkers, “Baby Yoda” and I will now call it that forever!
  • YHC was flattered when Schultz recognized that my feet actually left the ground in my SSH!   I am a work in progress, brother.
  • Great to have @Fizzle with us.  He got named driving Pax around for the “Bear” and was so impressive, he got named.  He is a true road warrior spending time FL, OH and here.  Glad to have him out!  Hung in there strong.
  • For the record, the Goofy rule on running at a core workout is that a short mosey is the correct way to get from place to place.  If the distance from point A to B is “long”, YHC recommend’s the Q stop along the way for a quick exercise(s) to not make it too long of a run.
  • Honored to be with each of you men today.
  • I handed @Adobe the keys to the place when I left.

Well done! Sounds like a very thorough beatdown. And nice playlist! But the War Daddy wasn’t a double respect. Lose 2 points. 😅
