New Conspiracy: Spicoli is always there and causes Pax to lose car keys?

QIC: Burlap

Date: 19 April 2023

PAX: Mittens (WB), ChickFlick, Lamb Chop, Gucci (Kotters), Schneider, Cherry Pie, Drip, Mutton, Frostbite (site Q), and Burlap (QIC and WD)

Pax of 10 gathered at Hanes Park on a beautiful spring Wednesday morning with ideal temps.  They all looked like seasoned veterans, so YHC skipped the pleasantries and went straight into:

Warmorama

SSHs

Peter Parkers

Imperial Walkers

Carolina Dry Docks

OH Claps

Lunges

Imperial Squat Walkers

(Yes, that spells Spicoli — YHC noted in the preblast that he knew the answer to the question of whether Spicoli would make it to the warmorama.)

Mosey left on WE Blvd to corner by Pilot View and the new wall for dips 10 in cadence and derkins 10 in cadence.

Mosey to baseball field (and find a way in) and split into four groups for Field of Dreams:

Home is 10 burpees and run to 1st where its amrap squats to 2nd amrap merkins to 3rd amrap LBCs.  Relieve the guys at each base.  Go around twice.

Over to small hill by steps for 7s.  6 Mahktar NDyias at bottom – 1 jump squat at top, then 5-2, etc to 1-6.  Stay at top when finish six jump squats.

Over to boy’s gym steps for dips and derkins 10 in cadence.

Down to covered area by track for figure 8 bear crawl bears — a new routine that YHC formulated yesterday.

Back to start for Mary with Mutton Crunches each side and dying cockroaches.

FIN

COT

Prayers for Greenspan, Mittens’ wife medical testing, Frostbite’s family, aging parents, and thanksgiving for the ability to workout with these guys.  YHC took us out.

NMM

  • YHC had to introduce himself to Mittens and ChickFlick, whom I knew only through Slack.
  • YHC had to re-introduce himself to Gucci, whom I hadn’t seen a quite a while.  Turns out he may have moved and is back in town on business.  Whatever the reason, thanks for posting and Kotters.
  • Pax was taken aback by Peter Parkers as the second warm up exercise.  Should have been a clue that I was spelling something.
  • YHC hopes that he is the first Q to incorporate the new wall at corner of the park new Pilot View into a workout.
  • There was no pre-scouting of the AO, so we didn’t know how to the enter the diamond.  We ended up hopping the fence.  YHC went first, and I guess the others figured, “if an old man can do it, so can I.”  Thanks to God for those protective barriers.  YHC still had a racking situation on the exit.
  • Mutton used 2nd base itself on which to put his hands for merkins accomplishing at least two things:  (1) kept his hands cleaner and (2) enjoyed a couple of inches of positive incline, making the terrible amrap merkins a little better.
  • LambChop was his usual chatty self causing Cherry Pie to exclaim to him, “Stop flappin’ your gums; it’s a form of lollygagging!” or something to that effect.  Thankfully, Palin was not in attendance so that there was some semblance of peace and quiet and sanity.
  • The Weinke had a routine at the pull-up bars or I-beams, but the fence was not inviting and time was short.  We may include this at my upcoming Q this Saturday at IS.
  • The pax seemed to be relatively tired after 2-3 cycles of the bear crawl bear figure 8s.  I may pull this back out in the future, so I won’t ruin the surprise by detailing it here.
  •  It wasn’t in the COT list above, but a critical prayer request was for finding Mittens’ car key, lost at some point in the workout.  After COT, Mittens, CP, and YHC backtracked and were about to be discouraged when the key was found by 3rd base, having dropped from this pocket during LBCs.  YHC may incorporate a new phrase in future disclaimers about losing keys and phones — naww, probably not.

Thanks for the honor of Qing.  I really enjoyed the morning, the guys, the exploration of the AO, and the trespasssing.

Peace,

Burlap

    I feel seen!

So sorry to fully miss your Q this morning, Burlap!

I’ll be there Saturday and am intrigued by the figure 8 bear crawls…
