It can be argued that The Beatles were better together than they were apart, much like F3 is better when we are together versus being apart as sad clowns.  This morning we decided to test that Beatles assertion with a playlist comprised of a couple of late era Beatles tunes and then a collection of the best of each of their solo efforts.  We also tried to stick to the tried and true classic Bells & Whistles format of mixing strength training with sprints.  Here’s sort of how it went:

Come Together – Warm-O-Rama

  • SSH x18 IC
  • IW x10 IC
  • Copperhead Squats x10 IC
  • Whirly’s Got The Clap x10 IC
  • Abe Vigoda x4 IC

Get Back – Warm-O-Mosey

  • 3 medium loop moseys
  • 1 short loop mosey

Instant Karma! – John Lennon

  • Jump Squats
  • Lawnmowers
  • 4 reps of each, alternating and laddering up each round in increments of 4 (4x, 8x, 12x, etc.)

Mind Games – John Lennon

  • Suicides on the tennis courts

What is Life? – George Harrison

  • Getups
  • High Pulls
  • Starting with number of reps you ended with in the last set, ladder down in increments of 4

Got My Mind Set On You – George Harrison

  • Short loops, sprint the backstretch, mosey the homestretch, rinse and repeato

Band On The Run – Paul McCartney and Wings

COT/BOM:  YHC took us out

FIN

NMM

@Lemming was impressed with YHC’s driving skill and speed getting to the workout until he realized that YHC was Qing and was therefore only driving that way in order to get there on time.  Had to make sure we cued the music at exactly 0529 for this workout to work.

@BAM was grumbling but YHC couldn’t hear much of it.  That’s the good thing about having a loud speaker.  @BAM and @TheSingingCowboy (and maybe others?) got in an EC run beforehand.  #RunningIsStupid

All of the pax were a bit confused by the extended mosey laps during “Get Back”.  Just wanted to make sure everyone got their money’s worth.

@BALCO loves #BandOnTheRun #ItIsAMedley

@Bluto thinks that Sir Paul’s cover of the Guns N Roses hit was really good and that he truly made the song his own.

@Manscape was the Beatles’ drummer before Pete Best was the drummer before Ringo Starr.  #TruthNugget

Per usual, @Lace was out front all morning.  Particularly impressive once YHC found out that he is also nursing an injury.

YHC was privileged to be in the presence of @SweetTea for two mornings in a row.  #Consistency.

Didn’t hear much from @Airbag this morning but everytime YHC looked across the circle, he was hard at work and getting it done.

It was determined that Yoko really did break up a good thing.  But the boys from Liverpool went on to do some pretty good stuff on their own as well.

Thanks for humoring me and putting up with my music nerdiness.  It is an honor and a privilege to lead.

Your friend,

Starfish
