The Guarantee @ Double Dutch

QIC: Tigger

Date: 6/19/21

PAX: Bam, Roland Gaross, Little Piggy, Drip, Closer, Starfish, Tigger.

YHC made a change from being site Q at the Iron Throne to Double Dutch last week – Being a site Q isn’t difficult but being a site Q of 2 AO’s was getting a little tricky. It is no secret that ole Tigger loves some jump rope. In fact, it was because of jumping rope during quarantine that YHC kicked off a fitness journey that would like not have happened otherwise. Skipping rope regularly increased cardio fitness and helped shed some much needed lb’s – All without ever having to go for a run (people don’t typically chase YHC, why would YHC run?)! With all of that being said, Double Dutch was nearer and dearer to YHC and if a site q was needed, that’s the one. In my ongoing attempts to share this incredibly effective and beneficial workout with everyone, a challenge/guarantee was issued to the PAX in the hopes that it would bring more numbers in (Might have worked if it wasn’t for that dang VQ!).

The Guarantee was as follows:

“If this workout isn’t the most difficult one that you complete all week, YHC will immediately perform 20 burpees following COT.” Challenge was removed from Slack because YHC doesn’t have as thick of skin and he imagined and the lack of response, combined with the nantan throwing out the “wtf is this guy doing” emoticon caused a bit insecurity to set it. However, the watchful eyes of Starfish DID NOT miss this post and reminded YHC of it during COT at VI this week.

YHC honored the guarantee and formulated the following beatdown.

Warm-o-rama:

ABE | Whirly | Calf | quads

3 minute free jump – practice and get your rhythm

straight legs with right over left & vice versa

Agilities/Plyo: Various combinations of fast feet drills, broad jumps, and Apollo Ono’s.

MC:

Everyone showed up with a certain look on their face that YHC could only interpret as one of two things, “this better be good” or “what the hell does Tigger have in store for us this morning?”

YHC’s inability to lead warm-o-rama’s in cadence this week is just baffling and there was certainly some mc about that

Starfish was going to judge the guarantee off of something his Garmin would tell him. YHC doesn’t believe this is a good way. The reason for that being that midway through, YHC heard Starfish say to Closer, “This workout may have a chance to beat the others.” However according to Garmin, his number from DD was half of what he did in YHC’s VI Q…

There was a lot of heavy breathing and sweat at this beatdown and YHC believes that the PAX got their money’s worth. I’m thankful that they showed up to support an AO that I am very passionate about. Stay tuned for Thursday’s in the future as YHC will be filling up the Q calendar.
