Climbing Mountains at Flat… Line???

8 pax showed up ready to work.  As w/ another of my previous #Flatline Q’s, YHC reminded the pax that even though ‘flat’ – we could still climb some mountains.

THAT THANG

  • We don’t warm up @ #Flatline baby!
  • A “Dynamic” Mosey down Second toward Poplar (high-knees, butt-kickers, Apollo Creeds (L&R)), and stop along the way for some merkins and mountain climbers (can’t recall if there was something else mixed in).  Explain to the pax that anytime YHC calls “rest” or “recover” this morning, that really means ‘mountain climbers’ (i.e. no rest), and if we traverse up any stairs we do so in a ‘hop scotch’ manner (i.e. two feet in, two feet out, two feet in, two feet out…).
  • Stop in parking lot in front of Milton Rhodes Theater.  There were lots of cars parked in the ‘flatter’ section, so we moved to the far left – which had a bit of an incline (oh well). “Recover”
  • Parking Lot Work – traverse to end of parking lot; 3 burpees; run back; either mountain climbers of Cobra-humpers (Q’s call)
  • DB Drills… Burpees… Run Back… Mtn Climbers (YHC: “this parking lot is always longer than I remember…”)
  • DB Drills… Burpees… Run Back… Cobra Humpers (YHC: “this parking lot is always longer than I remember…”)
  • Lunge Walk… Burpees… Run Back… Mtn Climbers (YHC: “this parking lot is always longer than I remember…”)
  • Broad Jump… Burpees… Run Back… Cobra Humpers (YHC: “this parking lot is always longer than I remember…”)
  • Bear Crawl… Burpees… Cross Street… “Recover”… Head up Winston-Square steps (“hop-scotch”)… and head to base of steps/amphitheater
  • Amphitheater Work – Perform exercise at base… Broad Jump Up… Perform exercise at top… Run Back Down… “Recover”
  • Irkins x 15… Broad Jump Up… Merkins @ top x 20… back down… “recover”
  • Dips x 15… Broad Jump Up… Star Jumps @ top x 10… back down… “recover”
  • Mike Tysons x10… Broad Jump Up… Merkins @ top x 15… back down… “recover”
  • Derkins x 10… Broad Jump Up… Jump Squats @ top x 10… stay up top… “recover”
  • Mosey to Parking Deck – “recover” – Back Pedal up ramps and do the following at ‘top’ of each level: 20 squats, 15 merkins, 10 hanging crunches, 5 pull-ups (do the above x 3) (Should have made it to the top, but was worried about time… looking back, had plenty of time)
  • Mosey… After stopping @ steps in front of FP Worship Center for a few step exercises continue to Corpening Plaza Upper Fountain perform the following exercises using the fountain wall…
  • Leg Press (L) x 15
  • Leg Press (R) x 15
  • Dips x 15
  • Lunge (R) x 10
  • Lunge (L) x 10
  • Box Jumps x 10
  • Mike Tysons x 10
  • Mosey back to FP parking lot Wall for…

Prayers for @Bevo and his fam as they anticipate a new member of the family.  Prayers for @Mutton that the routine procedure goes well.  Prayers for pax and their families who may be dealing with any personal struggles.  Prayers for pax who are dealing with and taking care of aging parents – and prayers for health for those parents.  Prayers that F3 continues to shape and mold us into the men that HE wants us to be.

NMM

  • YHC totally forgot we can now BOM (touch-a-sweaty-guy), but no harm, no foul there.
  • YHC wonders if @Bevo had a plan B in case YHC didn’t show up.  Not that I am one to be a no-show, but I was unresponsive to his reminders about this morning’s Q, and it’d been awhile since I last #Fatlined.
  • The pax were getting after it this morning (even if they did whine about not having gloves for bear crawling through a parking lot)
  • If I forgot to say it… that Milton Rhodes Parking lot was longer than I remember.
  • YHC’s goal was to hit some of the #Flatline “hotspots”.  Only regret was not going to the top of the deck (and definitely could have).  Looks like I’ll have to go back.
  • @Bevo is about to take a little time off… resting up in anticipation of newest member of the fam.
  • @Mutton… colonoscopy tomorrow.  Impressive he was out there (and not leaving a ‘trail’ behind him).  Prep must not have kicked in yet.
