It may be winter, but The Outhouse is getting a spring cleaning. No longer just a bootcamp, the Outhouse is becoming a hybrid AO, attempting to fill a gap in both AO format in Winston-Salem proper as well as a gap in the soul left by the Iron Pax challenge.

The Thang:
New Outhouse format kicks off February 3rd. The location will remain Leinbach Park, and the launch time will remain 0530. The weekly cadence will be as follows:

1. First Monday: The first week of each month will be a Murph using swings for the pull-ups portion. $5 Footlong will be the inaugural Q of the Monday Murph at the Outhouse on 2/3/20. Minimal preparation is expected of the Q for the Monday Murph, but a timely backblast will be urged.

2. Second and Fourth (and Fifth, if applicable) Mondays: Q’s choice on format, but emphasis to be kettlebells for both of these weeks. Running is allowed.

3. Third Monday: Theme is “Phoenix Week”. Iron Pax-like workout that will burn you down only to resurrect you in the end. The Phoenix Week workout will repeat on the third Monday of three consecutive months. The purpose is to give the pax a balls-to-the-wall workout that they can measure themselves against over a period of time. The H.O.G. will be the Q for the first Phoenix workout on 2/17/20.

All workouts will begin with the F3 mission statement, the five core principles, and a hearty disclaimer. MC will be at a premium. Fitness will increase, fellowship will flow, and the SkyQ will be observing.

The goal of the new format, including the Phoenix Week, is not to determine who the biggest, baddest BA of the region is; it’s to add fuel to each pax’s accelerating fire in the company of others. Doing hard things together with other men is one of the aspects of F3 that YHC treasures most.
