RNG Hills and Thrills

QIC: SGT Schultz

Date: December 2, 2019

PAX: Burlap, Hoptoberfest, Mutton, SGT Schultz, Zima

5 PAX met on a cool Cyber Monday morning at the New Sherwood Pool gravel parking lot.   We proceeded to run a 3.15 mile route (well most of us did, except me), that meandered as follows:

  • From the parking lot, left on Fernmarch
  • Left on Bryansplace Road
  • Right on Cedar Trail
  • Right at the second Marble Arch Road
  • Left on Allistair Road
  • Left on Bryansplace Road
  • Left on Greenhurst Road
  • Right on Glouseman Road
  • Right on Alistair Road
  • Left on Litchfield Place
  • Right on Devon Court (not truly a cul de sac)
  • Left on Litchfield Place
  • Right on Brookleigh Court (not truly a cul de sac)
  • Left on Litchfield Place
  • Right on Fernmarch
  • FINIS

All 5 of us returned to the parking lot by 6:00 a.m., with several having added some extra mileage to pick up the Six (me).

I still had all of my dumbbells and kettlebells (a pair each of 10lb, 15lb, 20lb, 25lb, 30lb and 35lb dumbbells, along with a 10lb, 18lb and a 25lb kettlebell) in the trunk of my car from Saturday morning’s Q at Purgatory (great for gas mileage!!).   We proceeded to use them in a Tabata workout by committee.   We formed a circle around the weights, with the Tabata time ostensibly set for 30 seconds on and 10 seconds off.   As we went around the circle, each PAX called out an exercise, with each PAX choosing a weight(s) from the pile of iron that suited them.  There were numerous rounds of curls, skullcrushers/tricep extensions, overhead presses, bent over rows, Monkeyhumpers, Goblet Squats, and Merkins performed until 0615 arrived.

NMM:

  • Hoptoberfest has taken over the reins as the new Q for Run & Gun, assuming the duties from Sac.

COT:  YHC took us out in prayer.  Thanks for keys, Sac!

Sgt Schultz picked this route to coincide with a women’s running group on Cedar Trail. Not sure if that is true, but I do know that Sgt, Mutton, and YHC picked up our pace when we ran by the women. Thankfully, they turned off into another neighborHood before we got to Starfish’s house and started to climb that hill. Surely, they would have passed us had they run the same route.
