Double Dora at Mayhem 10/17/2018

PAX:   Rust Bucket (QIC, WD), Turnover (WB), Offsides, Greenspan, Van Gogh, Touch Me Not, Zima, Spamalot, Huckleberry, Burlap

A lot of the PAX had just finished a weekend of running races so YHC though it would be nice to give their legs a bit of a break and concentrate on the upper body. Here’s how it went.

Warm-a-Rama:

  • SSH
  • Sun Gods Forward – Sobriety Style
  • Sun Gods Reverse – Sobriety Style (alternate foot)
  • Whirly with a Clap
  • Overhead Clap.
  • Mosey to the rock pile near entrance to the school

The Thang:

Select a small to medium sized rock. Mosey back to our starting point John Cusak style. Once there, partner up for:

  • Dora 1-2-3
    • Partner A performs exercises AMRAP while Partner B Runs to end of parking lot and back with their rock, John Cusak style. Partners Flap Jack until exercises completed.
    • 100 Curls
    • 200 Bent Over Rows
    • 300 Squats

Time to return the rocks to their home, so Mosey back to the rock pile with rocks, John Cusak style.

Mosey to wall at the side of the school for round 2 of:

  • Dora 1-2-3
    • Partner A performs exercises AMRAP while Partner B Wall Sits. When either partner tires of their exercise, Flap Jack until exercise completed.
    • 100 Merkins
    • 200 LBCs
    • 300 Jack Reachers

Mosey back to parking lot for:

Mary:

  • Several exercises called by the PAX as time allowed.
    • Rust Bucket – Penguin Crunches
    • Van Gogh – American Hammer
    • Turnover – Low Flutter
    • Touch Me Not – Box Cutters
    • Zima – Crunches
    • Greenspan – 90 Degree Crunches

NMM:

  • Spamalot was excited when YHC told him we would be doing very little running. Then he realized what the alternative was going to be and he began hoping for some running. Strong work in any case. Proud of this guy.
  • YHC thought it was a strenuous workout but Zima and Van Gogh took it all in stride. Don’t think they even broke a sweat. Is anyone surprised by this?
  • Met Turnover for the first time and was happy with the work he put in. Way to go, Brother.
  • Thanks to Offsides for the partner work, made my portion a lot easier by doing the majority of the work.
  • Touch Me Not, Spamalot, and Huckleberry were especially strong given that they just completed the Bourbon Chase last weekend. Proof that with consistent work, you do get stronger.
  • Greenspan and Burlap put in a solid workout. Was glad they pushed all the way to the finish.

COT:

  • YHC took us out with a word of prayer.

An honor to lead a fine group of HIMs. Thanks for the keys Zima.

Rust Bucket.

I submit that this workout was a lot harder than it may look on paper. I got a medium rock and could not have handled more. I couldn’t fully handle the one I picked with all the running / walking with rock overhead. That was rough. Thanks go to Spam and then Van Gogh for the excellent teamwork. Good job by all. Welcome back, Turnover, after the birth of your first child. F3 will help you lose all that pregnancy weight.

Running would have been much more enjoyable. But RB is a nice guy, despite making the Pax curse his name.
