YHC arrived at the Western Front ready for battle with an **intentionally angry playlist** — Metallica and enough metal to make everyone want to invade something.
And as faithfully as the sun rises, **Zima had thoughts.**
*”What is this? Not sure I get the connection with how this is motivating?”*
🤣🤣🤣
Never change, brother.
Unfortunately, a few minutes later YHC’s speaker apparently became the **first casualty of war** and died. So we continued blasting angry music through YHC’s phone at approximately the volume of an irritated mosquito.
**WARMARAMA:**

Then we moseyed to the battlefield.
Four cones had been established as our **trenches**, roughly 25 yards apart.
Well…technically four cones were established.
YHC apparently forgot to establish an **exercise at the fourth one.**
Outstanding military planning.
More importantly, today’s standing order was:
**NO MAN LEFT BEHIND.**
Finish early? Keep working until the entire unit is ready to advance.

Ummmm…
Apparently YHC forgot this part.
**TURN AROUND, SOLDIERS!**
On the return trip, we repeated the exercises at each trench, except Bear Crawls were replaced with **Army Crawls.**
Because nothing says *Trench Warfare* quite like crawling through wet grass before sunrise wondering what decisions led you here.
Eventually we returned to the first trench.
Zima looked around and asked something along the lines of:
*”Is this all you had planned?”*
YHC looked at him sideways.
**”Yup.”**
Except YHC had neglected to mention one small detail…
💣 **GRENADE!!!**
At ANY point someone could yell **GRENADE!**
When called, everyone immediately got up and sprinted across the entire battlefield and back.
And, of course…
**NO MAN LEFT BEHIND.**
After a few rounds, YHC decided to distribute grenade-launching authority amongst the PAX.
YHC specifically informed Zima that **he had the next grenade.**
Rudolph apparently heard:
*”RUDOLPH, IMMEDIATELY YELL GRENADE.”*
💣 **”GRENADE!!!”**
Zima: *”Okay…that didn’t really sound like my voice, but whatever.”*
🤣
By grenade number 8…9…10…YHC began realizing he had made a significant tactical error.
The Q was smoked.
💀 **OMAHA!**
But one HIM still had unfinished business.
### 💪 VAN GOGH — LEAVE NO MAN BEHIND
Van Gogh missed IPC yesterday because he was busy **Q’ing WIB**, so this morning he decided to complete IPC **WHILE THE REST OF US WERE DOING TRENCH WARFARE.**
Absolute beast.
And he **CRUSHED IT.**
So instead of finishing with another grenade, the PAX rallied around Van Gogh, cheered him on, and helped get our brother across the **IPC finish line.**
Honestly, that ended up being the perfect finish to a workout built around:
**NO MAN LEFT BEHIND.**
Nobody finishes alone.

### ✝️ THIRD F — ARMOR OF GOD
Today we pretended we were going into battle.
But Scripture reminds us that we’re already in one.
**”Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” — Ephesians 6:11**
Life will hit us with things we don’t see coming.
Temptation. Fear. Anger. Loss. Doubt. Hardship.
But God doesn’t send us onto the battlefield defenseless.
He gives us the **Belt of Truth, Breastplate of Righteousness, Gospel of Peace, Shield of Faith, Helmet of Salvation, and Sword of the Spirit.**
The battle is real.
**So put on the armor. Stand your ground. And don’t try to fight it alone.**
Maybe there’s another lesson from this morning too:
**NO MAN LEFT BEHIND.**
YHC took us out in prayer.
