The Last Official Parliament for a While

As the threat of contagion around the Coronavirus continues to mount, a sizable crew of 12 gathered this morning at Parliament to practice safe fitness in an outdoor environment.  In aligning with the consensus of the Dash-area Site Qs later in the morning, this will be the last official Parliament workout through early may.  What we will do moving forward, is ask that these next few Qs below to post pre-blasts, so that members can conduct the workouts on their own time.  If small groups want to get together to complete the routines, they are free too, but it won’t be an officially sanctioned event.  Here are the next few Parliament Qs:

  • 3/23: SGT Schultz
  • 3/31: Drama Queen
  • 4/7: Sassy
  • 4/14: Fender
  • 4/21: Ziggy Stardust

If any one wants the the following dates, please let me know, as they will just require pre-blasts.  My plan is to reassess if we can gather again after May 12th:

As for today’s workout, here is what got done:

 

We started with another #Gucciwarmup

  • 25x Side Straddle Hops
  • Arm Swirly Things
    • Forward x15
    • Backward x15
  • Arm Stretches
    • Right 10sec
    • Left 10sec
  • Overhead Claps x15
  • Seal Claps x15
  • Overhead Arm Stretches
    • Right 10sec
    • Left 10sec
  • 15x High Jumpers
  • Calf Stretches
    • Right 10sec
    • Left 10sec
  • 15x Squat Benders
  • Lunge Stretches
    • Right 10sec
    • Left 10sec
  • 15x Bend & Reaches
  • Quad Stretches
    • Right 10sec
    • Left 10sec
  • 15x Storm Troopers
  • 15x Bent Leg Body Twists
  • 16x Pagoda’s (3 counts each leg)
  • 15x Prone Rows
  • 2x Seated Groin Stretches 10sec each

We then made a slow mosey to the wall where 6x Pax took the People’s Seat, and the other 6x Pax took inclined front leaning rest positions on the opposite curb.  We went down the line one at a time, where the seated Pax did 10x Jack Reachers, while their opposite partner did 10x ‘Ircans.  Once we went down the line once, the sides swapped People’s Chairs for Inclined Front Leaning Rests, and went back through the line.  We went through the lines 4 times total, for each Pax to get 20x Jack Reachers and 20x ‘Ircans.

 

We then made another slow mosey to the hill out back to do a 7.  For the 7, we started with 6 Hillbillies at the base, backpedaled up the hill, and did a Monkey-Humper at the the top.  Pax would then walk back to the bottom of the hill for 5 Hillbillies, and backpedal up the hill for 2 Monkey-Humpers, until everyone finished their final repetition at the top, and took an inclined front leaning rest until the 6.

 

After this, there was just enough time for Mary, with:

  • 15x American Hammers
  • 15x Low Dolly’s
  • 15x Alabama Prom Dates

Announcements:

  • The only major announcements is that effective 3/18/20, all official Dash workouts are suspended indefinitely.  Tentative target, per government projections, is that we hope to start back up around mid-May, 8-weeks from now.
  • Until that time, Qs should plan to send out pre-blasts at least 12 hours before their scheduled Q, so that parties can workout on their own to the set routine.
