Closing out April with Flatline

YHC has been on the IR for the last couple months, so this was the first time back as Q since the middle of February.  Feeling better but this was the true test of how things have progressed.  Upon arriving at the AO, seeing the assembly of running warlords like Offsides, Huckleberry, and Robocop, YHC felt this would be a Trial by Fire.  Expectations went up from there when #Beverly, the OG of the #Flatline format.  YHC thought about an #Omaha for the gameplan when the unstoppable #CherryPie arrived; it was suggested that he’d have to pull the Bobcat to get a sufficient workout.

Anyway, there is no time wasting at #Flatline so here’s what we did:

 

  • Moseyed around parking lot doing SSH, Squats, Merkins, low flutter just in case anyone else was on #SpicoliTime;
  • Moseyed to Sawtooth Amphitheater: 10 Irkins OYO at the bottom, run up stairs, 10 derkins at the top, run back down.  Finish where you started.  Plankjacks on the stage when done waiting for the 6;
  • Moseyed to #CycleBar and did Freddy Mercury x25 IC to give tribute;
  • Moseyed down 4th to 1st Prez to 3rd to Corpening Plaza
  • Animal Walk around the quad: alternating Bear Crawl to Crab Walk to Crawl Bear until we go to the wall by the fountain
    • Australian Mountain Climbers x10 IC
    • Mike Tysons x10 IC
    • Low dolly x 10IC
  • Moseyed to Pillared building next door for Pillars of Progress: count up burpees increasing one per column.  There are 9 columns.  #crowdpleaser
  • Moseyed around and returned to 1st Prez parking lot
  • Gathered at the wall by the Bobcat: 10 Donkey Kicks OYO, run to second tree, 10 Mike Tysons, run back.  Originally doing this 5 times, #OMAHA for 3 times
  • #BROGA!
    • YHC led PAX through Sun Salutation Series while facing the Sunrise
  • MOM:
    • Triple Peter Parker (needs a better name): In plank, knee to wrist, knee to elbow, knee to shoulder = 1 rep.  Did 10 slow IC.  #Challenging
    • Low flutter
    • #CherryPie led full body crunch
    • #RootCanal led Pickle Pounders
    • #Posthole led Pickle Pointers
    • #Beverly led windshield wipers
  • Donezo

 

COT: YHC took us out with words of thanks for our community, for our brotherhood.  That we go into our lives, jobs, families as an example of positive mindedness, looking to the light, bringing meaningful change.

 

Announcements

  • Wobegon has a fundraiser event: Hike-a-thon May 11th at Pilot Mountain for the Piedmont Land Conservancy.  YHC is an HC for this event.  Should be fun
  • Cherry Pie let us know about a convergence on Saturday, May 18th downtown at Samaritan Ministry to bring an F3 presence back into the area

 

Moleskin

  • It was great to be out there this morning.  Thank you to everyone who posted: for your encouragement, the accountability. It’s my honor to be given the chance to lead.
  • I got to catch up with #RootCanal during our moseyfest.  I even had folks do mountain climbers while we finished up our conversation.  It’s what friends do.
  • #Cheesesteak loped past me during bear crawls like it was nothing.  #Impressive
  • #Huckleberry blazed through Pillars of Progress so fast, he had time to check his hotmail while planking
  • Strong effort by the PAX throughout, although not sure that #Robocop or #TurnOver broke a sweat.  #youts
  • My first time doing Pickle Pointers.  Thanks #Posthole.  We should have done those in front of the cyclebar
  • I hope to be strong and fast like #Drip when I grow up
  • #Beverly didn’t yell at my during the workout, so I assume the format was followed as prescribed
  • #Offsides makes running look easy
  • #CherryPie still owes me a parking lot length of dragging that Bobcat
