Spamalot, Light Brigade, Cheesesteak, Landshark, Butter, D-Day, Undertow, Offsides, Hoptoberfest, Root Canal, Boomerang, BAM, CO-QIC – Bluto and Closer

Wow… I was honored when I received a text from our very own NANTAN, Kevin Stein, AKA Bluto, AKA the nicest Q in F3, asking if I would join him to Co-Q Impossible Situation.  I was humbled, appreciative and frightened all at the same time.   Would I be able to live up to the huge expectations set by the Nantan and those set by Q-school which immediately preceded today’s edition of the original Saturday beatdown of F3 Winston Salem?

Warm-O-Rama
Bluto lead us off by running to the field at the track where we circled up for traditional warm-o-rama exercises like SSH, IST and Abe Vigoda.  At this point all PAX were sufficiently warm/loose so we began The Thang.

The Thang
Bluto lead DORA 1,2,3,4?
Partner up and complete the following exercises
50 Burpees
100 Merkins
150 Squats
200 Low Flutter

YHC has his first opportunity to prove his Q chops.  Mosey to Education Hill for some Children’s Story Time with Closer.  With Eric Carle From Head To Toe (One of my 2.3’s favorites)  in hand we exercised like animals.
Called exercise to be performed at Top and Bottom of Education Hill

I am a buffalo and I raise my shoulders – 20 Shoulder Raises
I am a monkey and I wave my arms – 20 Monkey Humpers
I am a seal and I clap my hands – 20 Seal Claps
I am a donkey and I kick my legs – 10 Donkey Kicks at the top of the hill
I am a penguin and I turn my head – 20 Penguin Crunches

Bluto takes PAX to the base of the Intimidator
We ran to the first STOP sign, stopping halfway, at stop sign, halfway and at bottom to perform called exercise
5, 10, 15, 20 CDDs first time up
5, 10, 15, 20 Lunges second time up

YHC takes over and brings PAX to the picnic tables by the playground for some Dip and Step Up Fun!
PAX then moved to the swings.  Breaking up into three groups we each performed
25 American Hammers
25 LBCs
15 In and Outs with feet on the swings

Six minutes of Mary
We all landed on our sixes for Freddie Mercury, Heals to Heaven, Box Cutters, WWII sit-ups, Protractors, Mutton Crunches

FIN

COT
YHC took us out thanking God for the opportunity to gather and exercise.  Pray that we can share God’s love and grace with our families, friends and the city.

NMM
After completing this Backblast I’m starting to think Bluto asked me to Co-Q because he really didn’t want to have to type up the BB.

YHC hasn’t been to IS in awhile and it was awesome to see and meet several new PAX.  Good reminder to visit various AO’s.

Bluto’s spinning SSH is always a crowd pleaser.  D-Day did a nice job spinning as well.

Enjoyed partner work with Undertow

BAM was there.  After teaching Q school he did his best to teach the follow up lesson all about mumble chatter.

Several PAX voiced concern that YHC was carrying a children’s book.

Landshark questioned my parenting judgement reading books and making my 2.3 exercise and run up and down hills.

Cheesesteak took the swing work to the next level adding a Merkin.  That dude is strong.  Modify as necessary.

During Step Ups Butter tried to remind YHC that this was supposed to be a 45 minute workout.  Nice try!

It was a pleasure and a honor!

That was one sweat-inducing beatdown! Education Hill and the Intimadator? Phew.

Excellent work by all PAXES. YHC minimized the spinning today during SSH and agree that D-DAY does an excellent, albeit dizzying, impersonation. Don’t be fooled by the kid’s book – it was mean. Kotters to Butter and enjoyed the echo of “Canal” after every warning of “Root”! Cheesesteak is stout. Bluto out.

Wow Closer – impressive co-Q. I think you did the Nantan proud. Love creativity with Eric Carle book. Maybe we need to do The Very Hungry Caterpillar at the next Lunch Bunch.
