OG & Tractor Friday Fun

QIC: Van Pelt

Date: 05-25-2018

PAX: Juice Box, Sacagawea, Wiki, Balco, Mongoose, Resistor, Mr. Hand, Bluto, Little Piggy, Forklift, Snappy, Peacemaker, Lemming, Cheerio, Palin, Beverly, Interference, BAM, Hazer, The Vig, Boo Boo, Closer, Burlap, Patch, Van Pelt

25 (or so) gathered in the gloom of Wiley Middle School to run some distance, whether pre-determined or not.  Pax: Juice Box, Sacagawea, Wiki, Balco, Mongoose, Resistor, Mr. Hand, Bluto, Little Piggy, Forklift, Snappy, Peacemaker, Lemming, Cheerio, Palin, Beverly, Interference, BAM, Hazer, The Vig, Boo Boo, Closer, Burlap, Patch, Van Pelt

Several Q fails along the way:  (1) Not realizing that the legacy Tractors run 3 miles, YHC posted a 4.5 mile route for Tractors.  Oops.  Modified route of 3+ posted late. (2) Even though YHC came up with the route, I took a wrong turn and led Sac and Mr. Hand for an extra half mile.  The conversation was stimulating and I was worried about the Tractors. (3) I am sure I did something at home that plays into the Q Fail theme.

All were pushing hard on what will be looked back upon as a good weather morning.  Mongoose and Snappy smoked by us.  Cheerio and Closer formed a human chain to deter passers.  Hazer and BAM (and others?) pushed hard through the 4.5 mile route (NICE!).

Always a pleasure to run with a Boston Marathon Elite in Mr. Hand.  He was holding back.

It is cool to see all the PAX gather at the end of the route, especially now that it is light enough to actually see the PAX.

Announcement:  Monday convergence at 7:00 a.m. at Outhouse (Leinbach Park).  VI at 5:30 per usual.

YHC took us out, praising those men and women that gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Happy Memorial Day!

Well done VP! I appreciate you trying to accommodate all the differing paces, no Q fail there. I was disappointed that there was no BBQ waiting for us at COT. We’ll call that one a #BBQ Fail

    Wait, BBQ was possible?
Palin ran the Tractors route, plus a RIRO from his house, which basically = OG’s route.
The hardest part of this route was passing the traditional start/finish area, only to have to keep pushing.
Good times with Hazer! He was pushing himself and getting faster!
And great overlap with OG route, they are always so encouraging as they pass by. Seriously, the added community is a gift.

Good to run with Cheerio on the one year anniversary of his heart surgery. The retelling of the story helped get me through half the route. Thanks for the push!
