The Village rose on this Monday morning and it was noticeably drier than it has been in past weeks. That appears to be changing this afternoon and for the next few days, but YHC took advantage of dryish fields in seeking some correlation between the significance of the day, today’s date (and even the time of the workout), and then make up the rest and hope it adds up to a quality workout! So here we go…

Warm-O-Rama (x10 IC unless otherwise noted)
Hillbilly x15 IC
Whirly w/ Clap x15 IC
Peter Parkers
Parker Peters
Arm Swirlys F HOLD
Arm Swirlys B HOLD
Overhead Claps HOLD
Seal Claps & Recover

The Thang
Mosey to Publix the top field closest to Peace Haven and run a lap.

YHC introduced this workout at Distillery some months back and thought the time theme worked well with today. YHC was going to do a similar workout to one year ago at VI; however, the Nation does not appear to have archived backblasts made for public consumption anymore #sadclown. Nonetheless, the workout goes like so: do a workout, run to the middle of the clock and then run to the next respective hour. We started at 12:00 doing 25 WWII’s, then ran to the center of the clock (field) and then ran back up to 1:00 and so on. Each workout was x25 OYO unless otherwise noted:

12:00 – WWII’s
01:00 – SSH’s
02:00 – Merkins
03:00 – LBCs
04:00 – Imperial Squat Walkers
05:00 – Burpees (x15 OYO)
06:00 – Low Flutter
07:00 – Lunges
08:00 – Plank Jacks
09:00 – Freddie Mercuries
10:00 – Monkey Humpers
11:00 – Imperial Storm Troopers

Mosey to shelter

Step-Ups (L) x 10 OYO
Dips x10 IC
Step-Ups (R) x 10 OYO
Derkins x10 OYO
Step-Ups (L) x 10 OYO
Dips x10 IC
Step-Ups (R) x 10 OYO
Irkins x10 IC

Mosey to Parking Lot

Mary
Captain Thor (1:4 ratio of WWII:American Hammer up to 5:20) #crowdpleaser
Gas Pumps x10 IC
Mutton Crunch x15 IC each side
Penguin Crunch x15 IC
Low Flutter x15 IC
Heels to Heaven (or wherever it is the Heels basketball team died and went to last night, Bazinga!) x10 IC

Fin!

Announcements
Hedwig’s Bachelor Party is this weekend. It involves hiking, guidance….and we’ll leave the conversation at that. Congrats, Hedwig, on this next step in your life!

Drama Queen and Sgt. Schultz are starring in the Mt. Tabor Holy Week drama on Sunday morning at 9 or 10:55 or Saturday evening at 5pm. It is rumored that Sgt. Schultz is playing the lead singer of Rush, but that cannot be confirmed or denied. Not sure how that fits into the Easter story, but might be worth checking out just for that!

Prayer Requests
Everyone who is struggling with addiction.
Those in Austin, TX affected by these senseless package bombs.

NMM
YHC asked Spamalot many months ago to Q today’s workout for multiple reasons. Today’s VI workout was the one YHC came to one year ago in a re-dedication to F3 after the First Pres men’s retreat. Undoubtedly, it is one of the best decisions YHC has ever made. On top of that, YHC had open heart surgery 3 years ago today (pre-dawn, same time as workout maybe?) to repair a congenital heart defect (VSD for you doctor folks out there). It was a scary time for all of us as breaking a sternum open is never routine, but thankfully things went very successful and YHC is just beginning to feel the benefits of that surgery through the push towards relays and distance races now. To say YHC is thankful for the Duke heart program would be an understatement. YHC is very thankful for the bonds formed within F3 as well through each of the 3 F’s in helping me become a better man. Thank you to everyone who has offered that push and an extra #DRP on some days!

Now, on to the workout itself! A Palin sighting in the Village! Well, some of Palin anyways, that dude has lost some serious weight! The Slow-Carb Diet has been awesome for him and I would recommend reaching out to him or Total Recall if you have interest in it.

Starfish has gained more respect since becoming a Respect through the continuous work he puts in all over the place! W-S for half the week and Austin the other half, that’s some commitment, brother!

Sour Mash and Schneider are a tandem that you don’t want to run into because these guys are beast-like with their effort, amazing work, guys.

Drama Queen and Boomerang seemed to be leading the PAX around the clock this morning. YHC was always bringing up the rear while DQ and Boomerang seemed ready for another round on the clock! Respect, men!

The Village is rising, gentlemen!

Great workout Sassy! Glad to celebrate two great life events with you. Thanks for the compliment, I’m down about 80# in the last 1.5 years, feeling great. Most was lost before the SCD, but I’m happy to help anyone interested. Good read here: https://f3nation.com/2018/02/07/queen-q1-4/

Man, it’s almost hard to believe that you had open heart surgery (or whatever it’s called). Thanks for sharing that with us. You never know who might read this backblast and be inspired by what you have done. We’re all glad you are a part of our little nation.

First, this is a good idea for a boot camp workout. Well done. Second, thanks for sharing your heart story with the pax. We are better for having you post regularly.
